Igasho, i wanted something tanky. I was aiming for a knight class aswell.
Tae'dae i was interested in but the balance and eq would kill me. Right now playing Igasho is killing me in balance. Still push that macro 1 sec too quick and have to wait another 2 seconds for balance.. ARG!
So used to playing non tanky quick races. Probaly should reincarnate but i enjoy being a wander and will push on till i die by a weevil for pressing that macro too early!! Thats got to be a super weevil too.. tongue.gif

A Loboshigaru Viscanti or in other words, a burned lycaean.

The first vote for Taurian is mine, and I sure hope I am not the only one.

Whee, and there's the second one, finally. tongue.gif *guess Davrick*

Okay, so 1 dwarf. We have more KROKANI than dwarves. Odd, that...only two Furrikini and one Orclach too.
Desdemona2005-01-30 23:18:17
Yeah, I think there are actually very few Orclachs out there. At least when Lusternia oppened, and I had my orclach alt, I remember just seeing about three of us/them.

And even though I know that not everyone who visits realms don'tcome to forums, and not everyone votes... I know that this poll can't really be considered an exact statistical representation of the population in realms. So, the results are only symbolic, and they do seem to closely represent the reality. The results are not that different from what you see in realms, I think.

Edit: A small correction.
Shiri2005-01-30 23:24:57
I'm still not sure where the idea polls don't represent the population comes from. Granted, it's not as accurate as a referendum, because not everyone participates, and there's only one vote for people with multiple characters, but really, why is there any reason to assume that, say, only Elfen read the forums, while the Orclach all play the game but don't read them? Proportionally, the results should be fairly similar, just scaled down. There's no reason to discard them as "symbolic", they're merely less representative.
Sekreh2005-01-31 00:04:16
I agree with Shiri. It's more reasonable to assume the forums are a scaled down lusternia than slanted toward a particular race for lack of evidence of a correlation between race choice and forum-reading.

It would take a pretty strict freudian to make a claim that people who play orchlach are less likely to read the forums, i think that'd be pretty hard to back up.

If it's truly random, results should reflect what they are in the realms, albeit with a significant margin of error. Just don't take that margin of error too far.
Desdemona2005-01-31 00:21:44
I agree with both of you, Sekreh and Shiri. It is just that some folks really don't cosnider posts like this could fairly be of representation, due to the simple fact that not all who visit realms come to the forums... or bother voting. So they may tend to discard the symbolism of polls like this.
Gwylifar2005-01-31 14:04:45
Well, there's a lot more aslaran here than in the realm, for some reason.
Daganev2005-02-01 02:46:48
and less tae'dae than I see in the realm.

I think those cats have bearenvy or visa versa.
Unknown2005-02-01 03:04:02
People have been confused by the wording of the question as opposed to the title it is given, so that obviously has influenced the results.

Other than that, it would be fairly accurate with no more than about a 5-10% difference between the poll answers and the game population.

(And no, I did not just pick a random number. It's an educated estimate based on the my study of critical thinking and logic .)
Faethan2005-02-01 06:22:15
Change my Merian vote to High Elfen. It occured to me that I would be getting a total of +4 to stats, as well as losing 2 level 2 weaknesses and all I would give up was level 1 faster EQ (which did turn out to be a real pain to lose for influencing, but that's all explained in my Idiots thread) and some swimming ability. Also, Faethan really doesn't like Celest (his parents/ancestors were more rural sea-dwelling Merians) so Elfen seemed like a better fit. Ramblerambleramble.
Sabriel2005-02-03 20:28:10
you know, looking over the stats of the furrikin in comparison to some of the other races, why do they even have the negative exp?
Shiri2005-02-03 20:58:38
*highfive Sabriel* Well, we have the roll, which pwns, but then again we're all Seren who get leap anyway, so whatev. dry.gif *needs upgrades! Same as Faeling!*
Rhysus2005-02-04 16:37:53
Furrikin should be given +1 to Str and be given increased elixir efficacy.
Desdemona2005-02-04 19:29:48
Furrikins are great! People who complain about them must be kidding. tongue.gif

Honestly... Furrikins are small which makes them hard not to miss. They have an increased Dex, and are very fast as opposed to the majority of the other races. Good Charisma to be good at Influencing, also their Intelligence should make them quite good at Magics. Roll makes them more evasive, in case you can't Leap or something similar.

Should they probably heal faster from elixirs level 1? That would be an added benefit...
But probably meek races like Furrikin should have weakness to Blunt damage level 3 laugh.gif
Shiri2005-02-04 19:41:37
Uh, int 12, average, is not "good for magics." We're only +1 balance, not eq, which means we'd be good for warriors if we didn't have AWFUL Str and Con, Charisma's been proved to be secondary to eq time for influencing, and we almost ALL have leap.
Alef2005-02-04 20:09:18
Darn I'm the only Dwarf that has voted in the poll so far. Although apart from me, Tharruk and Grogori it is hard to find another Dwarf, so maybe the polls are slightly accurate.
Unknown2005-02-05 03:22:31
My first character was a deranged Faeling Geomancer....Fun times. I'm sticking by Faeling! Woo!

Really? You, me, and Guido all post here often...6 tae'dae voted in the poll...I couldn't name 6 tae'dae if my life depended on it.
