QUOTE
Strangely enough, Jelaludin squats down as though miming that he is pulling a pair of pants down around his feet. He stands up with a look of satisfaction.

There's a fine line between being original and being weird. I find this message to be completely and utterly retarded. Who thinks it should be changed to something else?
Unknown2005-01-18 00:48:33
Yeah...what ability is that anyways?
Shamarah2005-01-18 00:49:00
Waterwalking.
Unknown2005-01-18 00:49:20
....
Shiri2005-01-18 00:53:43
Well, it never -really- bothered me, but it is a bit freaky, yeah. blink.gif
Unknown2005-01-18 00:55:54
I think it should be changed, since it can be made the butt of immature jokes. Besides that, I guess it's fine. I mean, it's a direct description of what they're doing (pulling gravity below them so they will float above water or something).
Unknown2005-01-18 00:56:29
There's so many better ways to denote water walking if that's what it is...
Drago2005-01-18 01:37:34
How else would you describe them making gravity help them by having them float above water?
Daganev2005-01-18 01:41:46
So and so pulls down the air about them, bending down to pull it below their feet.

I think its the squating and standing with satisfaction that is odd. I laugh everytime I see it. I also think someone is trying to moon me.
Unknown2005-01-18 01:51:19
Yea its a bad one.

How bout "A look of inner peace descends upon , the weight of the world seemingly slipping away."
Genos2005-01-18 02:07:50
There's a few messages that look really strange, that one being the weirdest.

Another thing that irks me is that Dragon Turtles have two different rather long messages, and even have a special attack that does a lot of damage. Then the Wyrms have one attack message, that's one line, and don't even have a special attack. And last time I tested the Wyrm digging up people it didn't work.. doh.gif
Unknown2005-01-18 02:11:43
When the wyrm does dig up people, it looks like they're digging you up, which is pretty confusing. Geos are the worst mages for the most part, but chasm is awesome so hey.

How about "Person bends down, pointing his/her palms at the ground with a look of calm concentration on his/her face. After a moment of this, your ears pop as a wave of force spreads out from his/her feet and person stands up with a look of satisfaction."
Unknown2005-01-18 02:45:41
Wow, you beat me to it, I saw the waterwalk message just a few moments ago (It was you come to think of it, at the Necropolis) and I was annoyed, and felt like posting about it here, heh.
Estarra2005-01-18 03:35:24
That message makes perfect sense for cosmic waterwalk. You are grabbing ahold of the cosmic threads around you and pushing it down around your feet, concentrating it upon the soles of your feet to repulse water. It just happens to look odd to people who aren't cosmic guardians and don't see the threads (note that cosmic guardians see something different when they cast it on themselves). To me, anyway, anyone who manipulates invisible energies is going to look extremely strange to people who can't sense them.
Erion2005-01-18 03:39:23
Imma agree with Estarra. Maybe throw in a tweak in the code that lets other people with Cosmic skillset see a different message? ohmy.gif
Silvanus2005-01-18 03:47:47
I'm going to have to disagree. The message gives off immaturity, and coming from Aetolia where the CLI has 10 people there every minute just bubbling with immaturity. Even if they are pulling threads, its still setting up for an immature comment.
Karrah2005-01-18 05:18:24
...
Erion2005-01-18 05:23:38
Then let them be immature, and beat the bloody shit out of them when they are.
Unknown2005-01-18 05:45:55
I know that's the idea behind it, but it's not like it couldn't be changed in any number of ways to look less dumb. Putting on an invisible cloak is kind of cool, pulling down your invisible pants isn't. If you really don't want to change it much then at least take out the squating part wink.gif They could just tilt their head down so it doesn't look like they're acting like a mime mooning someone.
Gregori2005-01-18 12:07:33
Pulling down your invisible pants, followed by squatting and then standing up looking satisfied is not really what I would call mooning. Everytime I see that message I shudder as it reminds me of one to many bush parties and not enough porta potties.
