Yeah, I guess I should have assumed that this would have been going on before I started playing since it doesn't exactly take a rocket scientist. Still, if you could destroy statues at range or they preventing summoning into them etc. things would be better.

If you could destroy statues at range, that would make them useless for city defenses. I think the major problem is that demesnes are allowed to summon people through shield. Silvanus obviously showed how powerful it is when he just keeps summoning Valek into Yukari's statue and just staffed him to death.

yes Statue in a fused demesne room is deadly. However, is it an effective tool? For those of us with the abilities to make them yes, otherwise it is an awkward and expensive tool. First you need to find someone to make the Statue, THEN someone to enchant them (if you weren't lucky to get someone who could do both.) All this takes some time and RESERVES... power stones seem to only lower the reserve cost. Now demesne summon costs power...
Now we look at a Druid... he has the ability to make the statue but he ALWAYS has to get someone to enchant it, meaning he is always going to be a little behind, and it means he has to work with a city guy. (which should get him dirty looks from his Commune since he is promoting the econmy of a city.) Its not like this strategy is the best... there are much better ones, this one is just one many of us use because we are saving the good ones for a real fight. (Once more poeple learn to heal, or look at this forum and the afflictions thread, statues will prolly be seen less.)

Well, you can't summon into any part of the serenwilde from any other part of the world, so my totem is useless for this sort of fun, or else you'd die a lot more.

Well via in rituals is a skill that involves highways. So if you could use via to destroy a statue on the highways it wouldn't effect cities at all, you could channel energy along the highway or something.

All I can say about bouncing into the tres from Harstone with statues around is ouch... I found how irritating it was from duelling Munsia even without statues being there. Getting hit by all those afflictions every time is just death on a stick. Remind Elaria to never start a fight with Serenwilde =D
Ravin's been doing a lot of demesne summoning recently, but thankfully there's rarely been statues involved. He's been scarily successful at it. Need to get around that... Demesne summon is extremely powerful, and incredibly useful. Truly makes the mage a master of his land.

Except for the too-long equilibrium loss. I wonder, do the victims of a demesne summon suffer from balance or equilibrium loss as well?

Unless they've increased the balance time on demesne summon since I was a geo it's only like 3-4 seconds. Well worth it to put them into a fully walled room, or statued, etc.
