As you can see, throughout that entire fight I did not ever regain balance. Murphy is a Broad Viscanti; he does not have a balance recovery bonus. I am a Dracnari, so I do not have a penalty to my balance recovery. It went on more before that point, but I do not have that portion of the log. So I ask, does this not seem a bit overpowered? If it were just he and I, I would have died just by virtue of never regaining balance to stand.

I think I pointed this out before in another thread, but Daganev, who we all know is the ultimate strategist on combat tactics, tried to tell me that it was impossible unless they were Aslaran with fast blunt weapons, though I said otherwise, you just need regular balance and decent blunt weapons. I suppose rebound would have helped, but then he could have just razed/knockdown.
You should have full parried your legs though.

It is possible to parry a limb while prone (I know it is possible to move the parry around, but will the attack be parried while I am prone?). I know in achaea, it is not possible unless the person is a monk (then it is guarding, instead of parry).

I just tested if I can parry while prone. I put full weight on my right leg, and had everything else zeroed out. I was unable to parry anything. So, once I was down, there was no way to get back up.
Oh, I was adjusting my parry on purpose. Stupidity was going off because I had my auto stupidity cure going. It tries over and over until it cures it.

Then yes, knockdown is broken. Quick fix? Make it so you can't knockdown an already prone opponent.

Heh, you're lucky he only used Knockdown, the Wind ability (gut) knocks you off balance 2-3 times as long as knockdown, even for an aslaran it's still like 4 seconds, which stack with following knockdown and wind blows. Which means even a race with lvl1-3 slower balance can still keep an aslaran permanently off balance if they time their blows a bit.

That's so damn wrong. Murphy attacked Geb 6 times in the time that Kurachi attacked Murphy 4 times and Geb didn't get balance back at all? You shouldn't be able to knockown a proned opponent in addition to knocking down the same leg twice, I'm not sure whether that increases the time being proned but it seemed it did just that when all Murphy did was knockdown on the right leg.

I won't bother posting the log because Geb has already done such to prove the point. I would like to expand on what was said, however. I was fighting Aajen earlier and he winded me and then did knockdown. He was able to hit me with 5 combos before I recovered balance.
Furthermore, how exactly do you "knock down" someone who is already "knocked on the ground"?
And finally, we all believe deep down in our hearts that off-balance shouldn't stack. Morslade and I tested something once and he was able to knock me off balance for over 5 minutes. There is just no reason why this should be possible.

Make it so you can't knockdown a prone opponent? Sure, it makes perfect sense. BUT if that is done, another jabbing wound to the legs needs to be added.... make breakleg jabbing too, simple as that(even with this it is a very significant downgrade/fix). Because this is how it's been since the beginning, knockdown (how it is now) is the backbone of bonecrusher, you can't just nerf/fix the backbone of an offense without at least trying to contain the damage to that skillset.

Hmm, if an ability was the backbone of an entire skillset, don't you think there is a problem with it then? You don't see any other classes claim one out of 20 or 30 of their abilities the backbone of their skills.
And knockdown is already good, considering you can knock someone onto the ground and mangle his leg without giving a message, only through diagnose can you tell. Isn't that good enough already?

Alright maybe 'backbone' was the wrong word to use, however, I would call skills such as Lash for Moondancers (well at least for Narsrim ) the backbone of the offense. For Mages? Supersling. For Blademasters? Pinleg. For Guardians? Much harder to say (which in my opinion makes them the best designed archtype in the game).
Me fighting Narsrim, without Lash? It's going to be draw, or I'm going to pull off a lucky BrainBash

Me fighting a Blademaster without Pinleg? I'll win... eventually, because even if you don't use Pinleg, the threat of it still affects how I defend myself. If I parry head 100 and keep it that way the entire fight I will not die, ever, but I can't do that when you can PinLeg me.
For bonecrushers, that special, magical skill is Knockdown... You tinker with a skill like this, you're tinkering with the entire offense, and great care should be taken.
Changing knockdown like how you're suggesting is akin to making Lash drain 15% mana, enableing you to sip health when Pinleged, or making Supersling take 5 power.
And as for mangling a leg without a message... what are you talking about? Bonecrushers can't even mangle legs now, because the skill that should be doing this mangles arms instead (which is a bug and will be fixed someday I hope *prays*)
I'm not saying it shouldn't be changed (because it should be), I'm saying there needs to be another upgrade somewhere else in that skillset to make up for it.

Oops, you're right. But I really don't see what else a BC might need, you guys already excel at breaking body parts than BM and you get some pretty nice higher level abilities than BM. At the heavy and critical levels, BM gets the following for limb afflictions- Collapselungs, Slitthroat, Pinleg, Impale, Legtendon, Disembowel, Behead. (7 afflictions)
Whereas a BC gets- BreakNose, BreakArm, CrushChest, VomitBlood, FractureSkull , BreakLeg, BreakWrist, CrushLeg, Concussion, BurstOrgans, and BashBrain . (11 afflictions)
You guys have 4 more afflictions than us at the heavy to critical levels in addition to the potential to be much more devestating considering how pinleg and impale stops us from attacking as well. BC don't need more afflictions, BM do!

As a Geomancer, Blast/Staff cast after running an enemy into a statue and fused runes was my offensive back bone. (In full demesne effects.)

Ah, the Geomancer champion doesn't mind using supersling. Nailed a few people with it, I remember. Didn't tend to work around me, but that's because we were in a team of 3 and one of them was a healer, so whatever he landed didn't stick, but he got Gregori with supersling pretty well, and I guess a couple others.

Ok Morslade is pretty much inactive, so I am the only bonecrusher around as well as aajen who seems to be notable. If there are any more out there, then I apologise I'm not being arrogant.
I dont know if aajen has done it yet, but apart from aajen I'm the only bonecrusher who can pull this off. to be one of the best bonies around, you NEED to manage your arm balance perfectly. I dont hit twice every balance, I hit once then wait a bit and hit again, splitting my arm balance to maximise the effects of knockdown and wind, and also paralyse if im whoring that.
2 major points here, knockdown doesn't ALWAYS happen, a lot of the time i wont knockdown someone reliably, ill just hit them "with a force that goes to the bone". Constant jabbing doesn't mangle legs. You may have gotten a crippled leg from the charybdon I was using.
And dont even START about wind. when fighting ill be lucky to get 2 or 3 winds on someone, after that, you do deeper damage afflictions(which doesn't knock off balance) Which for me, about 3 hits to gut gut, if they don't apply health, and then Wind wont go off again no matter how many times I hit them.
Burstorgans is useless, simple mending or resto to gut, vomit blood is about the same level of uselessness. Wind should continue to hit with jab, and swing should be used for the burstorgans vomitblood etc.
If you change knockdown to not knockdown after they are already prone, then make it so it always does knockdown if the limb is below a certain damage level and then are standing. If the limb is in knockdown damage stage, and they are prone, instead on knockingdown it should break the leg. If its got critical damage on it, and they are prone, make it mangle. That way we can't stack knockdown, but it will still be useful for beating on people with.
And while you're at it, you can change it so wind goes off in the same fashion, and doesn't just stop happening when their wound level goes past the wind stage.
