Well, okay, so this IS a bit of a biased poll, but I wonder, how many people feel that Lusternia's the best IRE game yet? I definately do, and I imagine quite a lot of the people staying here will, but how about the rest of you? PK too much here? Annoyed by archetype system etc.? Thoughts in general?
Unknown2005-01-20 20:38:12
A bit too much PK. I was hoping for a way more RP oriented game, but Lusternia still kicks serious butt.
Shiri2005-01-20 20:40:36
Hrm, and this should be in the Real Life board, as I just realised too late. How'd I move it? Or does someone else need to? *cough*
Unknown2005-01-20 20:49:25
I think Lusternia doesn't have enough RP, and is too much combat-orientated. But, I haven't played Aetolia or Imperian, so I would vote Achaea - just over Lusternia. But I still play Lusternia over Achaea because Achaea's credit prices are too high.
I just hope that IRE's next Midkemia MUD focuses a lot more on roleplay -- and hopefully Traithe will help do that.

I like the balance of PK and RP of Lusternia. Works really well together. And you can't beat the quests here.
Shiri2005-01-20 21:37:17
Yay for Whoever moved this here.
Lisaera2005-01-20 21:37:25
Moved.
Not that there's a lot of point in this thread, everyone knows Lusternia is the best.

Well, 5 rather silly people out of 17 apparently don't.
Richter2005-01-20 21:45:50
Whoever voted Aetolia... I have a nice mace with your name on it. I don't mean in the game.

My opinions are almost exactly opposite that. RP is seldom and little, while combat is over-rated. But that's just me .
Like, there needs to be many more lower-leveled characters in high-ranked positions; not every polition needs to transcend in combat -- in fact, very few should. We should only be able to go up ranks with roleplay, and less "requirements".
Unknown2005-01-21 10:08:20
The Avenger annoys me. It's to damn buggy. But I still like Lusternia the best, I think. Imperian is a close second.
I love the Idras.

Its hard to say... The new game is always the best, because its new... only over time can you say which is trully better.
for example... 30 years from now people will still play Pac Man and Tetris, but Mortal Kombat will be known as only a bad movie.

Pac Man's better than Tetris.
Unknown2005-01-21 11:53:38
Hey Shiri, why did you put the MUDs in that particular order? It's not chronological or alphabetical.
Unknown2005-01-21 11:55:40
My guess is because that is the order "most" people would rank them
Edit: And also I kind of disagree with a lot of what people say about RP, here RP is like it was in Achaea (where it existed) on much more personal levels, most of the time you wouldnt know anything about a lot of RP people would do unless you were directly involved, and just because you didn't see it, does mean it didn't happen. A lot of people prefer to have the interpersonal stuff, Roleplay is important to a person, and just because it doesnt get witnessed doesnt mean they don't do it. For an example, in imperian when Stavenn took control of the desert for the first time, I solo roleplayed lots of big rituals, that sometimes people walked across and saw, and sometimes they didn't. Roleplay doesnt have to effect the world or other people, as long as it gives your character a sense of reality, that is all that matters.

I ordered them like that because I wrote them down in the order I thought of them. I probably put it into the popularity order (for me too) subconsciously.
Unknown2005-01-21 18:49:53
I like Aetolia and Lusternia equally.

Mortal Kombat was a brilliant movie.
Richter2005-01-21 19:14:10
Manses just made it better.
Unknown2005-01-22 12:03:09
I think it's slightly biased. Aetolia is higher than both Imperian and Lusternia on topmudsites.
