I couldn't stand Aetolia. It seemed such a might ripoff of Achaea plus vampires. Plus vials were killer prices for newbie players. So flop.

Achaea became overcrowded and overpriced. So I moved to Imperian.

Imperian was cool but when it was announced a new realm with a complete workover, I came to Lusternia and drools over it.

I like mostly how Lusternia is SO different from Achaea etc. in a way the other two never were. Different novice system, city-guild relationships, power, archetypes, influencing, a DECENT history, better transport, variety in classes without being TOTALLY different necessarily and avoiding consistency (read, different guardians etc.) and so forth that no other IRE game even ventured into. They haven't really got anything Lusternia hasn't, and it's just so original - Imperian and Aetolia were too much like scratched carbon copies, meh.

And yeah, it is biased, but only by virtue of being posted on the Lusternia boards. tongue.gif

Aetolia was -made- to be a carbon copy of Achaea. It was the first project of a New Game, before IRE was even IRE. It was made by Achaea LLC, and gauged how a new game would work. Some people like it, some dont. It has minor differences. It started to work, and Achaea LLC realized that there was a business. So they started the third game, Imperian and became Iron Realms Entertainment.

Then after Imperian had a steady start, Lusternia was put into development. I'm quite enthralled with how IRE as a company is developing.

Not that it being DESIGNED to be worse than Lusternia justifies it any. wink.gif

Yeah I remember when they changed their name. Sarapis, Matt, posted on the Announce Board telling everybody to start buying credits under the new name.

Was that an inadvertant advertisement?

I have to agree with Nikua,

MK - both of them - have to be one of the poorest movies I've seen. Power Rangers movie was pretty bad too...

Here's some fun Lusternia history for you trivia buffs. It actually was planned at the same time as Imperian. Matt posted that he wanted game idea submissions. Eris approached me for a joint venture and we pitched our game to Matt. He shot it down even though he loved the idea because he wanted a game in a few months and figured ours would take at least a year to make (which actually ended up an underestimate!), and so Imperian was chosen as IRE's 3rd game over Lusternia. It was only after we found the correct business terms to mitigate the risk of a year long project that Lusternia was given a thumbs up. Imperian opened in April of 2003. I believe Lusternia coding was already underway by then, or at least was right around the corner.
