Bah, come here and let me hex you with sensitivity. I suppose the investable power ignores the deafness.
Unknown2005-01-21 08:50:03
See? Told you, heh.
Unknown2005-01-21 08:50:27
Yup, it does. Kind of strange really, though I suppose that actually gives nihilists a reason to get hexes.
Unknown2005-01-21 08:51:26
A small reason, but... What if darksilver or whatever the heck it's called, stripped quicksilver (like it does, right?) and if they don't have quicksilver, it strips deafness? That'd be a nice little beneficial tweak.
Edit: One more post till transcendent!

Yeah, I like that one, Tuek. Make Darksilver strip deaf!
Terenas2005-01-25 00:10:31
Well, I don't think people can complain about dominate anymore since it can be used to steal from newbies and lower-ranked people without any fears of the Avenger or giving their victims PK. Yay thieves, yay!

giving their victims PK
There's no such thing, therefore no one gets PK.As I understand it, you're supposed to sort out your player conflicts.. as players. If that doesn't work, there's the Avenger..
If that doesn't work, there's the Avenger, etc, etc.
Issues should only be for blatant rulebreaking (such as harrasment) otherwise you're just wasting the issue reader's time.
Your novice got theived from? Who by? Its not that hard to contact a Nihilist Secretary and have them slap the person down (well, depending on the novice's level I suppse).
Plus, you can always try to..steal the stuff back.
Shamarah2005-01-25 00:25:55
When people say PK, they usually mean "avenger-protected".
Drago2005-01-25 00:29:17
When I hear someone say "got Pk on him" I think "go back to Achaea ".
"I have vengeance on him" and "I have suspect on him" are the correct phrases, please use them.

No, he can't steal the stuff back. He doesn't have dominate or pooka. *shrug*

Mashu got stolen by Adrihn and when he was cornered at the Avenger's Peak, Silvanus raided Southgard so he could escape. Also, Ezra was just recently stolen from by Torak. See a pattern here?
And since the Avenger only works if your target actually killed you first, there is no repercussion for theft unless death was involved. And since you don't get suspect for attacking, how easy it is to have one or two people help block exits while Nihilists steal?
I'm against stealing, but it does serve as an RP device. However there really should be limits on this sort of things. How many newbies are going to be walking around with selfishness to prevent themselves from being stolen from? And for those Nihilists with hexes, it is simply too easy to give someone sensivitity to strip deafness and dominate.
Sylphas2005-01-25 00:47:54
Or give them vestiphobia, and have them drop what they're wearing.
Drago2005-01-25 00:50:12
Well, if Adrhin has Dominate he's pissed Drago off because he's suppose to talk to me before pacting *bitchslap stupid nihilist*

Good to see the Nihilist's leadership on top of things.
Drago2005-01-25 00:54:02
It is impossible for me to:
- See guildmember skills
- Watch a guildmember pact without permission if I'm not online.
I'm all for having it show up on the logs when someone pacts, and having the ability to strip pacts from lower ranked people.
I'm going to suggest that, now that I've thought of it.

No, you don't. The guild is open for every kind of player, so they could have as much fun as they want.
The fact that you only need 24 hours to enter a guild should be a hint.

Seeing guildmember skills for higher-ranked people is still a good idea, though, Drago's right.
Don't like the other stuff, but there y'are.

Actually, it would be -entirely- in the roleplay of a Nihilist to strip pacts from people for doing the wrong thing. How else can we punish them? Disfavor someone who's GR1? What's the point? Its not like other muds where until you get GR3 you wont keep your skills.
Not having that ability doesn't annoy me as much as not having the 'normal' secretary privs from other ire muds (Like.. score, inventory and skills)

Shiri2005-01-25 01:15:41
Yes, it would be entirely in the roleplay, but as far as mechanical advantage goes, no other guild can have similar advantages. The ordinary sec powers would be awesome though, yeah.
Unknown2005-01-25 01:29:11
. it is a p.a.c.t. , if you don't belong to the pact, then you can't interfere with it
i know .. the kind of people .. who build a nuke weapon in order to kill some bug.
I think this kind of issue could be dealt without having to create the powers that any authoritarian wannabe would dream to have.
Beside.. who here know Drago. the man who want to earn the ability to switch on and off a skill of entire guild because it would be good for his ego. Let's say you're a wise guy.. then some sh.t happen and you get replaced by some psycho.. as if guildfavours could not be obtained by being a buddy of a bunch of corrupted players..
How fun would that be to play in such a game atmosphere, huh ?
no thanks.. leave the gr1 in peace.. if they want to get involved in politcal games and stuff.. let them.. but meanwhile , those who just want to have fun, enjoy their skills and stuff.. leave them in peace
