I'm currently a Voyager to the Beyond and ranked 36 overall.

EDIT: And now I'm an Astral Traveller, and have explored no new rooms since posting. blink.gif

5974 rooms  biggrin.gif

P.S. Don't be lame and give the last room number in ZMUD spreadsheet view as that does not take deletions into account. If I did that I'd have 7106... Just drag a big selection box around all your rooms, right click and look at the "other" tab there should be a room count. Alternatively if you have rooms on different levels... make a copy of the db elsewhere (just incase) and open that copy in access. The ObjectTbl row count is your number of rooms.

That'd take forever going through all the zones selecting all the rooms. Also, my computer freezes when I select large amounts of rooms (e.g. 100), so 1000s of them wouldn't be too good.

Even when explorer rankings are working properly, the update is NOT automatic. It can take some time, for whatever reason, for rankings to change. Which would be a partial explanation for why you'd appear to move up without exploring.

It also seems, from my recent walking, that rooms you explored while the rankings were broken may not have counted, as recently I went up in ranking after an extended absence having only visited places I hunt all the time.

So you mean I will go up to my real ranking eventually without having to walk it all again? Yay. I hate being Landloper...
Olan2005-01-30 22:37:50
A) It is possible I am wrong, this is my theory from the evidence I have and what I know from exploring in Achaea.

2) Whether you will go up at a later date depends on when you walked. From what I've seen, if you did the walking when rankings are broken, then you will not go up later. You have to walk while they aren't broken...but it can take a little time for it all to update.

Oh. Damn, I went up when it was broken. angry.gif Well, nevermind.

You'll have to spend less time on the forums, and more time exploring, Shiri.
Shiri2005-01-30 22:55:44
I can do both. I'll do it while bashing, and read the forums in between gaining balance, like normal. happy.gif
Unknown2005-01-30 22:57:50
But you post more than you read...
Shiri2005-01-30 23:09:03
No I don't. I've read (unless I missed a few) every post on these forums, and only posted 6% of them! tongue.gif
Unknown2005-01-30 23:18:23
God, that's impossible -- seriously. You'd have to spend much more time on these forums than I originally thought. tongue.gif

Also, reading is faster than typing (well... usually).
Shiri2005-01-30 23:21:27
It's not impossible, it was 7% at one point, look in "Overall Top Posters", or something. Or maybe it was in my profile, I forget. Still, though. tongue.gif

How do the rankings exactly work?

I get the feeling the percentage increase needed for each successive rank must go down as you increase in rank.

As if you need the same increase in number of rooms explored for each rank it would seem like too big a number of rooms.
