Many Mythologies or worlds have a conflict between Dwarves and Elves, but I really don't see the different between a Dwarf using Stone and an Elf using wood.

The Elf are not destroying the Wood, they are healing it and growing it. The Dwarves are destroying the stone and using it for weapons.
Daganev2005-01-23 22:06:14
ahh, the way you worded it before was confusing, I guess Taurians should not be allowed to have gatherings in any of the cities/communes.

Interesting though that we have more "mercenary" guards in Magnagora then people sitting at the monolith.
Daganev2005-01-23 22:08:18
ummm, no. Dwarves do not use stone for weapons, they use the metals. but they make very good use of the stone when they carve out the mines, they tend to look nice. The elvs have many uses for wood that do not include its healing and growth. Shops, doors, cudgels. they discard the leaves the same way dwarves dicard bad stone or unused metals shavings.

I was typing out a long thing, and something weird happened, so I'll explain a little:

The Dwarves had taken home into a mountain, they dug very large holes deep into the Earth, and put huge iron Doors at the entrance of this huge gap. They mined everything in the earth, and creates it to steel, which they do use for weapons.

The Elves had taken trees, grew them, and use them to defend the trees. The Dwarves use the tools and the foundations of the Earth to defend their Mine, while giving nothing back.
Daganev2005-01-23 22:13:49
but stone doesn't grow....
How do you give back to stone?

If anything the Dwarves are more nature loving in that they don't mess with life or ecosystems in any way.
Silvanus2005-01-23 22:15:19
Exactly stone doesn't grow. They can't heal the land back to the way it was like the Elfen do.

Gah, Dark Elfen would NOT BE DROW! Nothing like Drow! The second a 'Drow' sets foot in Lusternia I shall stab myself!

They would just be tainted, ect. In fact, let's not use the name 'Dark Elfen', because then all the new players will go...

Dark Elfen?
Dark... elf.
Drow! OMG WERE IZ LLOTH!?!! I WNT 2 BE A DRIDER!!

Maybe 'Tainted Elfen', 'Glomdoring Elfen', 'Twisted Elfen', 'Corrupt Elfen'... but no Drow.
Daganev2005-01-23 23:05:52
To heal something, it must first be able to be hurt...
Aebrin2005-01-23 23:54:42
Here's something from Wiki:

Döckálfar
Svartalfar

Dark elves name have promise...

BTW the dwarfs can give back to the rocks by taking the metal to bed, saying they love them and occasionally taking them out to see previous veins. doh.gif

EDIT: What I mean about previous... I meant precious.

There's a pretty good Dwarf RP building up I think, and Conan has no idea what he's talking about due to his narrow Viscanti mind.
Silvanus2005-01-24 00:03:40
I have no reply to that, since you know, you called me CONAN. Sure, he is hilarious and his hair is funky, but how the hell do you see Silvanus as Conan?
Aris2005-01-24 00:08:29
Don't ask me, I honestly have no idea, but that whole me, you, statue thing, I just pictured Conan. And it stuck. But yeah, the Dwarves are cool, so don't knock 'em.

To be honest, I think that the range or races that are proper to forests (or nature if you wish) extends further than elf and faeling. The races that should probably be considered as natives to nature are: furrkin (Kiakoda, most powerful of the Vernal gods), tae'dae (the wanderers), igasho, elfen, faeling. So any of these races should probably have a green card access in any commune. For Magnagora: Orclach (I think they were the original inhabitants of Mag), Viscanti, and probably Taurian simply because Fain also favors them. Meaning that people from those races should be probably be given the position of power on any system upholding race. For Celest: probably just the Merians. Also, human is a fairly recently race, so they can be integrated anywhere. Though, there are some rogue races, that are those that may seem to simply wander and make the living wherever triggers them fancy (or acceptance): Taurian (no one ever really wanted to have them in groups, loboshigaru, and aslaran, mugwumps. As for Trill and Lucidans, they are definately more apt for cities, and they should be the people of highest regard in Hallifax, the same would be for the Dracnari in Gaudiguch. A race I haven't managed to locate are the Krokani, any suggestions as to where should they probably belong? So if any intention of building racist systems of power within realms should take the races' previous origins into consideration, not just view todays current racial population, because I can see people have developed a favoritism over Merians for Celest, Viscanti for Magnagora, Elfen/Faeling for Serenwilde.
Silvanus2005-01-24 01:04:46
I had said that the main races of Serenwilde are Elfen and Faeling, the main races of Estelbar are Furrikin, Tae'dae, and very rarely Igasho.

Magnagora was an assortment of races, but it wasn't Orclach. The Orclach had lived in Acknor before it was Tainted. Taurian were not in Magnagora, they were not allowed in groups. And I never heard of Fain favoring Taurian.
Silvanus2005-01-24 01:06:44
And to answer your question about the Krokani. They live alongside the Aslaran in the Grey Moors (west of Glomdoring), they lived in a Castle called Castle Djarrak, but it hasn't been seen since the Taint wars (it was why the Balach Swamp was open for the army to go through, because the Krokani were using the Shanth thing.
Shiri2005-01-24 01:07:26
Are you positive? The old ur'guard was composed of orclach. Look at Ladantine's escort to the Astral. Sounds Magnagoran to me.

Furrikin in Serenwilde, yo. biggrin.gif
Silvanus2005-01-24 01:08:47
The Orclach were not based in Magnagora, they were based around the Shallach and the Shallach Portals (Never seen the Shallach portals, but I want too).
Shiri2005-01-24 01:10:40
So how come the Ur'guard was composed of them, and as I say, Ladantine's escort? Obviously they recruited from outside of Magnagora too, if that's the case, and...well, they don't do that anymore, do they?
Silvanus2005-01-24 01:11:38
They moved to Magnagora because the Taint was there, and that could make them undead.
Shiri2005-01-24 01:15:04
The taint wasn't there when they were guarding Ladantine to the Astral.

And the taint makes them all cruddy and pathetic anyway.
