Ooh, darn good idea.
Buho2005-01-25 13:14:01
I just want to say I'm very pleased at the amount of feedback on this, and please keep the idea's coming. We might just use it.

When I eventually get my manse *eye credits* It'd be nice to have the ability to make little items (like.. beds, tables (which people can lay/sit on as well) and bookcases) and perhaps an interactive npc which we can have, like.. a butler at the door who greets people when they enter, farewells them when they leave but doesn't do anything else, or an old fat cook in the kitchen who liberally eats things from the cooking pot to "taste" it and see if its good enough to eat yet.
And maybe programmable room messages? Like the little environmental messages you get every so often, so things like "the candles flicker softly".
That's all I can think of.
Edit: On the item thing, perhaps each room gets a single item free, and you can purchase more (which can't be picked up, etc, etc) for extra credits, and perhaps having the "npcs" being cheaper then pets as they don't actually do anything.
I really want that butler though.. he'd sigh when people dropped things and pick it up while eyeing them severely.

When I get a manse, I would like a dancing girl in a cage and another one who gives me drinks.
TELL SLAVEGIRL DRINKS
A slender blond offers a tray with a glass of iced cocktail to you.
TELL DANCINGGIRL DANCE
A scantily dressed girl dances in a cage for you.

Fulcrux hourglass orb (Or something!!!!!)
With this orb, you can IMPRINT Your personal mark into it, making your very self the key to opening this trinket, and yourself alone. Upon DROPPING this orb in your manse (it MUST be your own manse, elsewise, it will return to your inventory), you will have the option to decorate an unstealable wardrobe, Treasure chest, or some other such container for up to 200 items, and while inside of it, items will decay at 1/2 the normal rate.

I am sleepy so maybe this is a weird idea.
The ability to make an area into an orchard
You can choose from Apple trees, Cherry trees, Oranges, Lemons or so on
Or you can make grapevines
You can have up to maybe 3 different types of trees/bushes/vines in one area.
The fruit that you grow here can be eaten singlely
Or used in cooking to make recipies!
(I honestly can't remember if fruit is a commodity or not ... so.. sorry)

Manse Eject
The power to expell anyone and everyone out of your manse
A good time to use it
Rhysys- "Bro'man! it's 3 in the morning! What are you doin' up in here?"
Erion- Nothin'... just chillin'. What you doin' up? I usually have the place to myself 'round this hour.
Rhysus- "I keep having these nightmares. You ever have them?"
Erion- Yeah. I had a dream one time. I was look'in through all these portals, and I couldn't make it inside. So I climbed through the portal of this fly-ass manse! With a big see-thru 'box. It was full a sammiches! But..., but... I couldn't open the door Rhysus! So I just stood there and cried man. Oh yeah! Bro'man cried.
Sorry .. sleepy and watching syndicated televison.

...did the eject thing you suggested have anything to do with whatever the heck that little dialogue was about? What am I missing?
Aebrin2005-01-25 18:41:53
Ehh wha?
Rhysus2005-01-25 18:58:59
What in the -hell- was that?
Shiri2005-01-25 19:00:38
She really WAS tired. 0_o Apparently it's completely unrelated, it's about some sort of sitcom...involving one guy who keeps breaking into another guy's house to eat sandwiches...uh, don't blame me, I had no idea what she was on about either, this was from later deciphered ramblings.
Ialie2005-01-26 02:21:25
Maybe
Manse
Seeing who enteres your manse.

Ialie2005-01-26 03:07:26
okay no tesseracting into manses.. can we still teleport to eachother on the aetherwaves. Or flow into people's manse?
Elryn2005-01-26 03:17:31
You can tesseract into and from manses. I just wish they were separate continents, so you can't yell between them.
ohtaren2005-01-26 03:44:32
I totaly think chess boards are a must. Also bookshelfs (also needed for the aquamancer library *begs gods*). I thought it would be useful also to set one-way exits.
Elryn2005-01-26 03:44:41
Hmm, I've been told tesseracting to and from manses has been changed now. Not sure why though.
Well, in that case, could we append the Tesseract skill in planar so that anyone allied to the manse's owner is able to TESSERACT FULCRUX (name)? Much like the Teleport skill was adjusted.

You will notice, you can no longer yell between Manses.
As for Tesseract, currently Tesseracting INTO a manse doesn't work.
Aebrin2005-01-26 14:16:07
Just a little push on the furnture and item posts.... what about secret passageways? Pulling a book from your bookshelve opens a passage way to another room.

To is to the reference of Worldbox of blastron:
I think it's a brilliant idea. Gives the owner of the Manse much more control of their own little mini-world.
What about this little warp:

This box allows you to have ultimate control in your manse.
TOUCH WORLDBOX
Allows you to see the current settings in your world.
WARP WORLDBOX ENVIRONMENT
Standing in a room in your manse, you can now change the environment to suit your needs.
POINT WORLDBOX ROOF
Remove or Replace the Roof, changing the room which you stand to indoors or outdoors.
Then you may add Crystals to your Worldbox (7,5k)
ATTACH TO WORLDBOX
Red Crystal
This red crystal signifies the indoor elements of your manse. With this crystal, you may change the general environment.
ROOM WARP MONOLITH
Sets the room so that it may or may not be teleportable.
ROOM WARP KEY

CLIMATE AMBIENCE SEASIDE/FOREST/CITY
Echoing from the Prime Planes, you can now apply the ambience of the above to your manse, hearing distant calls and smelling the air.
Black Crystal (10k)
This crystal will allow you to create specific items in the room. These items cannot be removed from your manse.
CRYSTAL CREATE
DESCRIBE- (1k)
