Which areas do -not- count towards explorer ranks?

Back to Common Grounds.

I know that the Newton caverns don't count, any other areas? I'm thinking specifically the Dairuchi mazes...I've explored so much of the lands during the little explorer-rank-misweave fiasco, and it'd be inconvenient to revisit every area again if they didn't count in the first place... yeah so which other areas don't count? juggle.gif

I'm under the impression that all areas count.

in imperian, I died to get to level 20 so I could explore the newbie areas again (there were some secret mines I missed), and it jumped my explorer ranking past risca, who was at the time in first place.

The debate in other IRE realms was always that the other planes don't count... but here, it appears they do and I doubt they changed the explorer ranking code for that.

I'm assuming manses don't, and hopefully stockrooms don't count.

The entire Explorer rankings are bugged. I've been to uncountable places and I'm still Vagrant sad.gif.

Pedestrian here. I have no idea why it's taking this long to fix? *think* I guess it's low priority.

Did it, like, work for a little time, and then screw up? Because how did some people get above Vagrant?

stock rooms in imperian counted...
everything with a room number counts, unless they decide to go into the code and make thousands of exceptions.

even the garden of the gods count, and thats why nobody in imperian is the highest possible rank of explorers.

I know in Achaea they changed it so that the novice areas didn't count... I think there was a stink kicked up some years back by explorers. In Imperian they all count, I'm not sure about Aetolia but here in Lusternia I'm fairly sure the novice areas count and as such I suspect manses, stockrooms (they've counted everywhere AFAIK), etc count.

If you need every room to be a planeswalker, rather than just 99% or something, stockrooms don't count. I really don't think Kaervas broke into all those stockrooms so fast...

You don't need every room.

On an unrelated note, I wonder if the rooms you "see" with dementia count, if you could somehow get to them...

Heh for any Divine who might be out there reading:

Please do not count towards explorer ranks:

Guild halls (iffy but I prefer not)
Newbie Areas
Stock rooms
Manses

I'd add in "order only" temple areas, if any get put in. The problem with doing all this is that it makes exploring a lot less interesting... takes out the point at higher levels where you have to beg/steal/borrow your way into places and though I never got into that it lets you separate the "dedicated" explorers to those who merely want to be up there (spoken as someone who could never get above about 7th in Achaea because their character viewed order-only temple areas as sacrosanct).

It was either mentioned in closed beta by an immortal or somewhere here that the newbie areas don't count towards explorer rankings.

Well, now I don't even know which areas have counted to my rankings. I first noticed I was a Pedestrian a bit after the weave was rewoven, then recently I have become a Landloper. I've swam through a lot of the Inner Sea, explored nearly all of the Seren, the mountain range, and the villages that aren't close to Mag, plus more. I would think that should put me above Landloper. Pfft oh well, I'll just go explore everything again when I have time.. shuriken.gif pureevil.gif stab.gif

When Lusternia first opened, the stock rooms were all opened and unlocked. If you were quick and knew how to map things, you could have easily gotten them all before the bug kicked in and things stopped counting. wink.gif
