where is -9/-10? I'm -8 also and the only thing to the west of me is hawaii, unless catalina is further than I thought.

-9 is Alaska and Hawaii, not sure what -10 is. But I mentioned this, becasue I say that the west coast was shown on the poll as -9/10, and we're not.

Hawaii is 3 hours behind clifornia, not 1. But I forgot about alaska.

Actually, sometimes we are two hours behind California, and sometimes we are three. This is because we do not use daylights savings time, so we don't set our clocks back, ever.

I was basing my guessing upon that chart through the link in the first post. After looking at it more, Alaska seems to actually be -9, while Hawaii is in deed -10. Of course, I should have remembered(i didn't though) that Hawaii is the furthest west state, and thus coudl have guessed it was in a latter time zone than Alaska.

Who is on GMT -1/-2, and where are they? Or did they just press the wrong button?

gah, Arizona and Hawaii (now) always screw me up.

There are a few tiny islands in that zone, but I'm suprised that someone actually voted there.

Also, the countries/areas/continents in brackets are only a guide and may be incorrect -- I got them out of a 1987 (or something) atlas, as I couldn't find any detailed enough maps of timezones on Google.

I know someone from Aetolia who is based in Iceland at the American naval base. It could be him.
