Aluren-Soulwarden-man'o'war is the height of dodginess.
First turn: plains, soulwarden
second turn: plains, white knight (gain a life)
third turn: forest, aluren.
Play man'o'war free of charge, gain one life, return man'o'war to my handx1000.

Oh, trust me, it gets worse.
Archthron2005-01-29 14:02:46
I don't know why nobody likes white... my mostly white deck is practically undefeated in conventional circles. It's pretty old, though... dating back to whenever it was Mercadian Masques came out. That was probably the best set to come out, IMHO. Life, anyone?
Shiri2005-01-29 14:09:48
...masques...best set to...come...out *sizzle* *collapse* That was about the WORST set ever, you know. According to the general player population. And I can see why. Lin Sivvi, 75% of decks. YEESH. =/
Laysus2005-01-29 14:28:14
I'm sure the best cards I own at current are from either tempest or stronghold.
Shiri2005-01-29 14:29:00
That may be because they're slivers, because they RULE.
Laysus2005-01-29 14:35:13
nah, actually, they're extinction, and a couple of others.
I love my extinction.

I'm a MtG idiot, but I still think White's the most powerful colour in case of 'my creatures are stronger and cheaper then yours, blargh, you are dead' scenario. White Knight (this card was propably banned before I've heard of Magic for the first time) is too good, and so is the Silver Knight. CoPs make you indestructible etc. Yes, White sucks when it gets to sophisticated tactics, but it's a collectible card game, not chess!
Shiri2005-01-29 15:58:17
People would LAUGH if you tried to use CoPs and White Knights today. Silver knights, maybe, because goblins pwn
Unknown2005-01-29 21:30:12
Goblins? You mean the 1/1 creatures with a cost of R and no special abilities? (wait, some of them had immunity to summoning sickness... wow, overpowered)
Yes, I'm feigning ignorance.

Crazed goblin
Chimney Imp
Numai Outcast
Horizon Seed = THE most broken cards ever.
Oh wait, I missed Great Wall, Sorrow's Path, and Okk. (See, I do know old cards!)

Masques IS the best set, the reason nobody liked it was because none of the Professionals use white, which is where all the best cards were. So nya.
Also, the whole rebel thing was pretty pathetic, but I certainly don't use them. The white I'm talking about is Noble Purpose and Story Circle white, the good kind. (Tidal Mastery!)
Daganev2005-01-30 02:35:58
If your playing with apprentice Shiri, use the old sets, nothing newer than iceage. Then you will see how Real MTG was suppose to be played.
Your new toys are silly.
I remember when 1 mana ment 1 point, or 1 new power. not, 1 mana = 5/5 super monster with the ability to eat the player on your right.
Anyone remember when the game was actually able to be played with more than 2 players?
*daydream*

My favourite game was "King" (not sure on the name, making it up). Where you have 3 people on a team, the goal is to hit the middle person, and the only way to get to the middle person was to get through the ends. And the middle person can't attack, but it can send its creatures to its "Generals" (making that name up). So it was almost always the middle was either White for healing, or blue for spells, and then the ends were black, green or red.
Daganev2005-01-30 03:18:03
oooh that sounds cool. I played with 5 player sitting in a ring like the picture on the back of the card. Thats fun as long as you keep out the cards that target colors.
Unknown2005-01-30 04:59:02
I haven't played since Ice Age. When I did play I prefered a Black/Artifact discard deck. Hypno Specs, Millstones, Hymn of Torach(sp?), Mind Twist, and Vise/Wrack .
Unknown2005-01-30 08:20:53
*drool* I love hymn so much, its just toooooo good, hence why its restricted. And whoever it was misunderstanding about goblins, goblins are the way to get 2/3 turn kills in modern(ish) formats. With stupid things like goblin piledrivers.
I got second in the tourny, drafted a Kodama of the Center Tree (X/X equal to the number of spirits you control, soulshift X equal to the number of spirits you contral 4G) and Genju of the Realm(WUBRG, Lengedary Enchant Land, 2: enchanted land becomes an 8/12 legendary spirit with trample untill the end of turn, if the land is destroyed, return genju of the realm to your hand). SO I basically went 5 colour for the Genju and filled it with cheap crappy spirits from all of the colours to boost the Kodama, worked pretty well, beatdown always does in Sealed.
So after the tourny I have swapped myself into having 4 of each normal Genju plu 2 Genju of the realm, going to build me a land deck. And also traded myself for a lot of Ninja's (only ones with nijitsu) think I have four of everything except Ink Eyes only have one of here and don't have the Blue legendary one, But I can't remember that ones name at the mo, but makes nijas unblockable as a costed abilit (1U maybe?).
