OK, so I decided to spend a few minutes looking for a good avatar. I checked the available pictures of M:TG cards as avatars from the wizards and stuff, then decided, SOMEONE certainly has drawn pictures of animal/humanoids, probably wearing armor and stuff too. So I think, what's that word again for when animals look like humans? Anthropomorphic, right? So I do a google search for anthropomorphic bears...

Lets just say that apparently every artist that draws anthropomorphic bears draws anthropomorphic erotic SLASH bear art...

yeah, I discovered that also. Apparently "Bear" was one of the nicknames for the village people to if you know waht I mean.

I'm guessing this is something I don't want to look up at work?

And that I don't want to look up at all? Not entirely sure what slash is in that context, but by Olan's reaction it's nasty...

I think (from the contexts I've seen it used in, including this one), it's male on male or female on female.

Actually, some of that furry stuff Mejhura was showing me in regards to her loboshigaru character was... well, it was interesting. I'm a fan of most kinds of art.

Slash is a term used in fanfiction a lot, it's original (well, without getting into the story of how it came about that it meant this in the first place) meaning was taking homosexual subtext in a book or TV show or whatever and turning it into text in fanfiction or art. It's not used so narrowly now, as you can see, and it works as an adjective and a verb as well (eg. The LotR movies are very slashy, I'd probably get zapped if I tried slashing the Lusternian Gods). Oh, and it usually only refers to guys, girls is femmeslash.

Yeah... Looking for non-dodgy furry art is a difficult exercise, but it can be done! You should have a look around the big galleries that don't accept overly explicit stuff like deviantart and elfwood...
