What the...?

Back to Common Grounds.

I looked....

Forest alongside Moon River.
The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth. Thick
hedgerows surround this part of the forest, leaving only a discrete trail that
runs parallel to the river beyond. Thin pine trees stretch above the lower
bushes, leaving only a few shards of light to dangle through the thick foliage.
The sound of the flowing river mixes with birdsong to fill the air with
nature's sweet melody. *Ceres* does some ninja stuff. A sedge of galingale is
firmly planted in the forest floor. Reaching up as high as the eye can see
looms the awesome presence of a living totem.
You see exits leading northeast and southwest.

Then I look again and it's gone.

I see many odd things in room descriptions. Usually, it's just something like "a stem of galingale" in purple at the beginning of the plants part. Sometimes, however, I see Ravin slinging two runes at me (and that's in purple, too, for some reason) or a person teleporting. I don't know how they sneak in there, but I'm glad I don't keep all my reflexes on all the time, or I'd be wasting cures on these "illusions" that pop up. Heh.

It might have been a silly title that he had for a second or two.

*think* Sure you don't have dementia? It does some WEIRD stuff.
Manjanaia2005-01-29 15:25:20
Yeah when I got dementia in the Arena people in the FFA kept popping up, but they weren't in the room
Aebrin2005-01-29 15:30:30
Nope, no afflictions. the Ceres ninja thing was in purple plant colour too.
Estarra2005-01-29 15:35:59
Looks like an illusion to me.
Aebrin2005-01-29 15:38:46
But in the room description and only for a second?
Alef2005-01-29 15:44:39
In the first few days I got a room description with Visaeris webbing me in it.

And here it is

QUOTE
Beneath the maples.
The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth. The
large spreading canopies of the maple trees disguise the area about you, making
for a small private space within the tangle of brush. Since the maples do not
sport many branches near the ground, it is easy to walk under the canopy and
the lush selection of ferns and mosses abound. The occasional sharp stone pokes
its way through the moss, meaning that careful footwork is needed to navigate
this part of the woodlands. Sticky strands of webbing sprays out from Visaeris
to cover you.l
A sedge of galingale is firmly planted in the forest floor. A
marjoram bush flourishes here, spreading its delicate scent.
You see exits leading northeast, east, southeast, southwest, and northwest.
Ceres2005-01-29 18:54:43
Yeah, that was an illusion I cast in the arena to test the speed on them.
Aebrin2005-01-30 01:51:43
Uhmm this was in Serenwilde Forest when I noticed it. So how come your illusions swang out into the forests?
Ceres2005-01-30 02:44:18
That'd be the "ninja" factor.
Unknown2005-01-30 21:55:05
It's definitely no illusion. I've seen goofy descriptions all over and I don't see any way that someone could have created illusions such as the things I've seen, like stray plants that appear and disappear at random. I'm sure they can alter a room in some way, but I'm not so sure that this is how it's meant to work, especially the purple color.
Ceres2005-01-30 23:20:03
No, it was a bug. I cast a illusion (one use) in the arena, and it somehow showed up there.
