I can fly and get demesne summoned back from the air. You aren't sure what other skills I have for this scenario because I have none.
And well done for your reference to a sequence of abilities I've NEVER USED. That REALLY supports your point.

You showed a log of you using it, so, obviously you lied there, what else have you lied about?
Shiri2005-01-29 21:50:11
EDIT: Hopefully before anyone notices. Doh.
Amaru2005-01-29 21:50:22
I -tested- it with my -ally- in the -arena-.
Note, if Ravin was doing that ^ no one would be complaining.

During closed beta, it was originally like that. If the demesner died, their demesne became unmolded, though it was still flooded/tainted/forested.
Ceres2005-01-29 21:57:06
Bring it back!
Silvanus2005-01-29 21:57:29
And I wonder why it was changed? You know, because Mage's are so incredibly weak in the defence area, and that'd just render Demesnes useless.
Shiri2005-01-29 22:00:04
Um. How would it render them useless if it only unmelded when they died? For one thing, in many ways that could be an ADVANTAGE, as it would let other people meld while they were dead (not much of one, but for a short time while they pray...), and for another - since it only happens when they're dead, and hey, look, all our ents vanish, and they cost power to replace - if you died in the fight, your demesne wasn't exactly doing you a lot of good that it would when you were dead anyway.
EDIT: Awesome, 5X Trans. Go me.

I think here, the case of me being organised and dedicated enough to spend the time money and effort to get the sucker up, and also finally finding a decent use of the mages skills is what everyone is complaining about. (albeit it is with a statue).
Got get mad, get even go make your own 400 room demesne and then comeba ck and tell me its all smooth sailing. Do you know what its like to leave with 400 rooms and come back with 60? I can't begin to explain the pissed off-ness it brings. Go try it for yourself

Ravin, I don't think you have even the slightest idea what it's like fighting a 400 room demesne. There's always another angle, remember.
And it doesn't cost any money to make a demesne.

I'm confused, doesn't the guards dissapear when a village frees itself?
Unknown2005-01-29 22:03:38
It wasn't guards, it was a demesne.
Unknown2005-01-29 22:04:34
It doesn't matter how hard it is for you, Ravin. It doesn't help my character at all if you chop off both of your legs for a long-range zap stick, I'll still be zapped.
Your argument is completely irrelevent, and it'd help us all if you would stop repeating it.

It does to fuse it. Its not hard to break Ravin's demesne, the Geomancers found a way in the Estelbar demesne, because there is something you guys have never tried to do.

I feel like I'm in Achaea again arguing with Occultists.
If the skills aren't working as advertised, then they are bugged or the description is bugged. It's that simple.

Erm. In all my time as an Aquamancer, I never once used a single gold piece in the flooding and fusing stages of a demesne.
ravin2005-01-29 22:08:15
how about the cost of runes?! I spent so much in gyfu runes on dairuchi and the surrounding areas!
btw my demesne IS breakable, it happened in the early stages until i asked daevos for some guards in dairuchi

That's not right. Runes take tints to make, and tints take gold. I think that's what they were referring to about the money part.
Amaru2005-01-29 22:12:08
You're all missing the point. The runes do nothing anyway. It's the -demesne- we're talking about here. Specifically, demesne summon.
Unknown2005-01-29 22:12:48
Well, runes then. I suppose runes do take gold.
Silvanus2005-01-29 22:13:16
Lets look at this Amaru. A Hartstone's demesne does 200 damage less then mine, I'm mythical Geomancy, Munsia is 25% my might, meaning she doesn't even have all her skills. Now, spread that out over an entire area, lets say Southgard (which is Munsia's demesne), and now try leading a group into that.
Edit: SOrry, 35% my might.
