I was just tackled off of my mount. I was wondering if this... makes any sense? Someone on the ground tackles me into another room, off of a six hundred pound mount, that's probably a foot or two above them.
Also, when you use intimidate, it doesn't seem that a pet is able to intimidate much at all, and I believe they're set as ledgendary steeds.
Love,
Richter

I think riiding needs work too, its too easy to knock people off their mounts. And there is only one useful skill in it too, Trample.

It's been that long, and no changes?
Amaru2005-07-29 11:00:54
Hey, I just saw Revan's name and suddenly this character came to mind. There must be some Brits out there who recognise him.
Ahaha.
Ahaha.

I recognise him, but I can't figure out for the life of me where from.
EDIT: OOHHHHH it's that Davidd guy. Right?

Little Britain.
I feel bad for laughing so hard.

How can you not recognise him? After all.. he's the only gay in the village.

No, I got it after Ceres posted, read my edit. (I'm not sure how this is relevant to Revan though. )

I have never seen such a total and utter hijack like that before. Well done Amaru, that was suitably random
As for Riding... I want it, I want to learn the skill, I want to do cool things from mount-back. Shame there isn't anything to actually do :S
We understand there's a lot of projects that are always being worked on, but a little time into Riding would make a lot of people happy

Lusternia needs more staff
Sylphas2005-07-29 16:34:03
I'd love to be able to do more with my stag than simply ride it around, but until Riding gets some major changes, it's just not worth it.
Unknown2005-07-29 16:43:46
What if instead of "riding" the skillset got changed to "Animal Empathy"
It would let you ride animals, use animals to pick things up, or have them give things to you, eventually you can control the emotes of the animal.
Then you can add combat skills like the ability to have the animal do basic attacks, or trample, or skills to stay mounted. The combat skills requiring some power to use.

Does riding here disable any skillsets? I remember barely ever riding my stag in Achaea because I couldn't lay traps while mounted.
Aleron2005-07-29 17:35:50
You can't use bolting as a Hartstoner. Which I find silly.. given you gain the power by bonding with Stag, yet, while riding your totem spirit - a Stag, you can't bolt, because you can't sprint.
Vix2005-07-29 17:49:48
Not to mention the stag only shoves people into the trees. Would be interesting if it impaled them though.
Gregori2005-07-29 19:12:00
Stag is a cosmetic feature mostly. It gives you a free legendary steed that you never need to buy food for or buy an artifact to keep alive. It does a minimal attack just to make us feel good inside that we have a skill that does something, and when you learn trans riding you can trample people all over the place.
I would much prefer other skills be fixed or modified before Stag, however in keeping with the theme of the thread tackling someone off a horse is not entirely difficult in the real world. So why would it be in a fantasy?
That being said I am all for a defense that keeps me from worrying about one more Warrior attack. So make Tackle blocked by being mounted!

Or if that isn't acceptable make it a skill. I don't know what the name would be, but maybe something like this would be seen for the tackler:
As you attempt to tackle Richter his steed rears on its hind legs and knocks you back, momentarily stunning you.
I'd rather it just not work though. While it isn't hard to imagine someone leaping from the ground to tackle you off a mount it just doesn't seem r... you know what, nevermind.
