Because its a specialised ability? Its like point staff doing more damage then cast blast.

Because its a special skill in Necromancy, not a prequisite.

And you're getting some of the mana you leeched back, that inherently made it better than amissio already. So why is there a need to make it even better? Many Necromancers want this or that skill of their upgraded when in fact they already have much better skills than other classes. Why should there be any need for upgrades to Necromancy at all? Putre, Ghost, and Lichdom are better than probably 75% of other skillsets, I'm still unable to understand why Necromancers consistently claim their skills are inferior and needs tweaking.

I'll take an example: Lets say, you are a class, that has only one way to kill someone, and you use the same 3 skills in all your skillsets to kill said person, over and over, because its the only 3 skills worth using in said classes. Many classes from Aetolia/Imperian/Achaea were like that, thus they were ultimately boring and most people had to switch class. Do you have a skillset where you only use the same 3 skills over and over?

Stag Totem- Stagform, Swiftstripes, Medicinebag. Only 3 useful ones for fighting, the rest either blows or cost too much powers (Ancestral Curse, Stagstomp).

Then you, as long with Necromancy, and any other class should get an upgrade. Coming from a monk, I had only used 2 skills in telepathy, and 3 skills in kaido in fights (not mentioning the defences). Thus, I'm very biased.
Drago2005-02-01 03:33:11
I used maul, quarterstaff and incinerate as a Druid because no one wanted to fight me in my grove.
Back to Necromancy, I didn't say I wanted Leech upgraded, I was suggesting why people think it isn't that good.
As it is, anyone that gets leeched who has Amissio can simply amissio back most of the mana they lost.

I'd like to recant. Amissio should be changed to give back no mana. It should just drain mana. Leech, however, can then drain mana and give it back thus making it superior. Celestines would suffer, yes... but should they be able to regen mana, heal mana passively (stigmata), and drain it back? Noooooo!
Unknown2005-02-01 10:36:34
Agreed. There is no reason why Amissio should regain them mana, just like the specialized skill of Leech. And Celestines already get stigmata.
Thorgal2005-02-01 11:28:58
Also agreed, amissio not giving back mana would cause leech to make much more sense and worth using over amissio. And for the record, leech does NOT give back more mana than amissio, the skills are completely identical save for the messages.
Amaru2005-02-01 19:53:09
Amissio shouldn't give mana.... I thought that was the whole advantage of leech. Hm.

Well if a Moondancer, Celestine, and Nihilist can agree on something... then it should be done!

Especially when they are all competent fighters.
