bleh, Thorgal, you are an inspiration to us all.

Amaru and Co. == IDIOTS!
Erion2005-01-30 19:32:09
I think it's stupid and should be stopped. >.o That's like, dodging the purpouse of power, if you can just go in and use it up to set up deffs like that. But each their own, I imagine.

It should strip lich. If it doesn't it's a bug.

Sounds like balance to me. ohmy.gif
Silvanus2005-01-30 19:34:38
Since we are on Necromancy and Celestines/Paladins have a way to strip Necromancy trans skill, I think Necromancers should have a way around Prismatic barrier (OMGWTFBBQ! OVERPOWERDZ!!!1!1)
Unknown2005-01-30 19:38:09
I would trade a lichdom downgrade for an offensive upgrade. Especially since I have hexes XD

Let's upgrade hexes already! 3 hexes for 6 power? that sounds fair to me unsure.gif

Interestingly enough, I recently received a long treatise on why liches and necromancy needs to be upgraded.

Could this be the perpetual example of the grass always looking greener on the other side?  blink.gif

Agreed - remove the undeath part. Leave the +/- 2 stats.

The problem is that the power cost (on dying) is too high. Just remove that, then tweak Nihilists with some sort of defensive bonus.
Unknown2005-01-30 19:40:26
If you're liched, you shouldn't be allowed to have the lich defense on. Thats the problem I have with it.
Unknown2005-01-30 19:41:14
noo, offensive bonus, offensive bonus.
Unknown2005-01-30 19:42:33
Well, since Lich is a defensive skill, and Silvanus was speaking of their weak tankiness compared to Ur'guards...

Bah give 'em whatever. Just get rid of the stupid 20p never die (or automatic doubledeath) part of it.
Daganev2005-01-30 19:43:29
Mind you, this thread was started by the same person who says Moondancers need upgrades.

Why do you people give this thread legitimacy?

Lets just give everybody superpowers, and each person their own island to bash, and call it a night.

I'm blown away by your careful reasoning, Daganev, and conceed in a non-spastic manner on all points.

No. It is not a bug. You can use the arena for whatever purpose you like.
39207

Thorgal did just that and got issued when he used it to get WP back, they said because they didn't specifically state that using it like that is a bug they wouldn't punish him but not to use it for that purpose again. So using it for WP is bad, but abusing it to save Power is okay?
Amaru2005-01-30 19:45:56
Daganev, since you have no idea whatsoever about PK, you shouldn't comment on classes' PK abilities and whether they are balanced (Moondancers).

This isn't sarcastic, isn't right? I really, really hope not. Because making out that someone who says Moondancers need upgrades has no clue what they're talking about really hasn't fought one recently.

EDIT: Okay, or Amaru and Isntinuse can be faster than me, whatever.
Thorgal2005-01-30 20:07:06
Like said before, there's this treatise signed by many non-magnagorans, stating that necromancy is NOT overpowered, if anything, it's UNDERpowered, cause it LACKS offense in every way imaginable...the only people that seem to be complaining are Celestines, who have a skill that strips us clean of the very reason they're complaining, Lichdom...

if you don't want your target to lich, use inquisition, with that skill, you destroy our TRANS skill, next to KILLING us, cause we all know how long we're gonna survive without any defenses, without vitae, and a 10 second stun, against a celestine...

Sacraments leaves necromancy FAR behind in both offense AND defense, numen anyone? trueheal? Honour? Bliss? resurrection? Judgement? infidel, heretic, inquisition?...the bloody skillset is swamped with amazing skills, where as our necromancy is barely any better than the crap they call necromancy in achaea, the majority of necromancy is completely useless.... I'm pretty pissed off you want it nerfed even more...till now I thought you had some objectivity and sense for balance.

Even while every single Magnagoran loses to you in battle, do you see any of us complaining like you do?
Amaru2005-01-30 20:19:20
Right. Contagion, lich and omen just totally lack offence. Sometimes I cry at night, thinking about poor children like Valek. It's upsetting to think of how he feels with 21 strength. Daevos' dsls killing Rhysus in one hit... crying.gif

I can't even go on... just let me cry this pity out of my system.

Hold up. Double damage? Even in QUAKE that's considered overpowered. You can't have it all. Invincibility clearly has a price. What needs to be done is a balance. Reduce crucify to 3 power, reduce omen to less power but make it only affect the person who cast it. Whatever. But lich is overpowered.

And Thorgal, for the third time: Inquisition does NOT STRIP LICH.

You should read the replies to YOUR topic. Contagion has been downgraded, Omen barely lasts a few seconds, Valek killing low level armour-less mages in two hits hasn't got anything to do with necromancy, lichdom drops our intelligence and strength with 2 points 65% of the time, YOU have a skill designed to damage liches, radiance. Conclusion, you have TWO skills designed to battle liches, where as we don't have ANY skills designed to battle celestines and paladins?

I'm stripping your arguments one by one, choosing to ignore what you don't want to see isn't gonna make them more viable. You got the best offense, you got the best defense, will you never be satisfied?
Shiri2005-01-30 20:26:53
What might be good, Thorgal, is to make a new topic specifically arguing about the Celestine skills. Because Lichdom is still overpowered to everyone else, regardless of how good the Celestines are, so that's what the point in question here is.

I think you're confused. Right now, inquisition does not strip lich. If this changes, your point is valid. Otherwise....

Not at all. Any Mage has a defense against Lichdom, just have a demesne be out of their reach, when they come back, demesne summon them, or will-o-wisp. Moondancers have tons of ents, and a defenseless Lich is easy to kill, just put them to sleep with your pixie.
