What...

Back to Common Grounds.

Yep. Those things in Glomdoring at the Spider's Larder specifically that my nymph keeps pacifying. Nothing in the trees, ground, air, underground. WHAT ARE THEY? Or is it part of the Crow/Hart quest I shouldn't ask about?
Maedhros2005-02-01 00:23:16
I kept getting a mesage with flickering lights try to tempt you to walk towards them...

Something along those lines. I thought it was Wisp, but it's weird cause if it was, I resisted it 4 times in a row...
Shiri2005-02-01 00:32:07
It was a wisp that you got I think, but it's not like that. Wisps don't attack like other offensive faeries, anyway, so a nymph wouldn't pacify one...and it ONLY happens in that location.
Richter2005-02-01 00:43:10
Is this new? I haven't wandered Glomdoring for a while.
Shiri2005-02-01 00:46:55
No, it's been there ages, someone just reminded me to ask. (I think it was Laneth.)
Estarra2005-02-01 01:33:14
Sounds like a bug... what exactly is the text you receive?
Shiri2005-02-01 01:39:20
Wagging her finger in censure, a wood nymph whispers quietly to a small ball of light, whose eyes glow green and then nods meekly.

Standard nymph pacifying text, but with "a small ball of light." Or whatever. I forget EXACTLY, but I think that was it. The only other place I've ever seen that was the squids in the Sea, but I can't imagine why they'd be attacking me, not existing, from one room in the middle of Glomdoring. wacko.gif Pretty bizarre bug if it is one.
Genos2005-02-01 01:54:56
It's the black widows, I bugged it a looong time ago. I would reflect myself and walk around, when the Widow's grabbed me it would say "A small ball of light rages, seeing his attack fall on your reflection" or whatever the message for reflections is. Not to mention I was still carried up into the trees by them, just not webbed... I think I bugged it at the very beginning when I first started playing.
Unknown2005-02-01 03:27:29
Well if it is just bugged Widows I can stop trying to hunt for the things now.
Estarra2005-02-01 03:33:38
Was that 'small ball of light' or 'small ball of energy'?

If it's the latter, I know what the issue is. If it's the former, I have no clue.
Merloch2005-02-01 03:44:29
It's a small ball of energy.

;-)

Have fun with it.
Unknown2005-02-01 06:41:40
This isn't about the bug, it's for the person who spoke about the balls of light tempting you to walk to them. That's one of those area programed room messages. I forget the real name, Gwynn told me what they were when we were building. It's a willowisp, but not the actual mob. Just gives you the feel, because those fae are found in swamps and try to lure people to their deaths. Nice fae, eh? There's probably like 5 fae that aren't evil or wicked in some way. Even kelpies are murderers in fairy lore.

It's probably the latter, I'm just retarded and have a bad memory. Sorry.

And yeah, since when were kelpies ever good? Pshhh. Willowisps had the potential to be so awesome too. biggrin.gif (Plus they seem to have more factual backing than other faeries. 0_o)
Genos2005-02-01 23:40:18
Yeah, it was energy, I knew it was a small ball of something... tongue.gif I just haven't gone to Glomdoring in a while.
Shiri2005-02-04 01:10:45
Okay, the mystery of them aggroing on nymph-bearing people is still up in the air, but thanks to two COMPLETELY random phrases uttered in the right place by Malicia and Tuek we managed to work out what it was.

I can't say though. Just thought I'd mock y'all. halo.gif
Unknown2005-02-04 02:18:08
Heh, I uttered the phrase first in the said random location!
Unknown2005-02-04 02:37:34
C'mon fess up! You know how much those things bug me.
Shiri2005-02-04 11:17:08
Tuek scared half the life out of me too, he made it sound like I'd screwed up and prevented them from killing Crow or something...*mutter*
