Unless you can somehow magically sip health or eat sparkleberry while stunned, I'd really like to see how most people could get out of that situation with the jellies stunning as well as an Aquamancer repeatedly shieldstunning every 3 seconds.
Ceres2005-02-04 17:32:25
You're not stunned the whole time.
And if it's only a problem with Aquamancers, why downgrade shieldstun?

Have you actually read the arguements presented beforehand? It is not just merely Aquamancers, but rather Geomancers, Aquamancers, Druids, and Wiccas that can pull off this lame tactic. Stating that your opponent isn't stunned the whole time, only the majority of the time with less than a second span of time in between each stun doesn't justify the fact that it can't be used abused to hell and back, as you have obviously did in your fight against Thorgal.
Again, I ask are you being objective in this situation or do you not want to see it downgraded so you can continue whoring it in its current stage to easily win fights?

I'm just going to have to not leave the Megalith (read, not play) until this gets fixed. Tuek was never difficult for me before, I killed him once, he turned me into a toad once but I got away, now he's attacking me inside of my city and if I'm not with guards or other people I've got no chance of escaping. Some people just don't have what it takes to win legitimately so they cheat and try to justify it, it's nothing new.
Thorgal2005-02-04 20:58:24
Yeah, both Celest and Serenwilde got their shieldstun abusers, so it's best to stay away for us...though kuddos to Amaru for NOT abusing it, even in group fights.

Jello. You can't kill me. You killed me once, when I was running around with no defenses and no fae in Delport, because I could not draw any power due to our cities limitations on withdrawal. I had run from Daevos, after being beat on by a group, and ended up in the same room with you, and I died, since I was already mostly half dead.
Edit: And I've only used the shieldstun tactic on you once. You were a test subject since I had just become Aslaran.

Geomancers can't stun or anything similar to that.

I think this pretty much sums up your objectivity. Since only Aquamancers are a problem with shieldstun, let's not downgrade it but keep it just the way it is so other Aquamancers can abuse it like crazy. Sounds like a perfectly sound arguement.
Shiri2005-02-05 11:48:22
...I think she meant to downgrade Aquamancers instead of shieldstun, since it's only a problem when Aquamancers do it, which means it's not the ability itself that's overpowered. Which is very objective.
(I disagree, because Tuek obviously used it pretty damn well, but that's another matter.)

Exactly, Shiri. I was suggesting my own class be downgraded.

Kind of figured that is why you are an aquamancer. Other classes can pull it off too, but yet you only want your own class downgraded? On the other hand, I suggested that shieldstun not be available to any class that has passive means of giving afflictions (That would stop Wiccans, Celestines, and Aquamancers from abusing it).
