I'm wondering, where did the name Lobstrosity come from? The only time i've heard it used, outside of Lusternia, is in Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. They are a race of very aggressive, mutated lobster-things that live on a beach. Is that where the builders got the name?
Daganev2005-02-02 00:05:45
such a creature exists in general mythology.
Shamarah2005-02-02 00:06:10
I've heard it used to reference any kind of hideous, mutated thing... not sure if it's an actual word though.

And there I was thinking it was made up. Where are fesixes from, either? And obesefessors? Or are they original? I know about all the rest. *G*
Drago2005-02-02 00:11:26
Obesefessors is a conjuction of obese professors tongue.gif

Read the histories, it mentions them where they Cosmic Hope Party uses the eternal flame to get back from Astral.
Unknown2005-02-02 00:12:01
Obesefessor? They're obese professors. Where the hell are stainless steel goats from, huh? huh? And, uh.. virgins? Never seen a virgin irl! And not just because I live in Canada.
Shiri2005-02-02 00:12:46
Yeah, I know what it's FROM, just don't know if they nicked it from anywhere. tongue.gif Lobstrosity could be monster/lobstrosity, looked at it like that, but that's apparently nicked from somewhere. *shrug*
Unknown2005-02-02 00:13:00
I assumed it was some sort of mythology, but I guess it must be one of the lesser known ones.
Daganev2005-02-02 00:17:46
Just because others have thought of it, does not mean you "nicked" the idea. It only means its been done before.

Like my dad is writing his book that has elves and half-elves. Half-elves being 2 feet tall, while elves are 5 feetish.
Shiri2005-02-02 00:24:06
Whatev, you know what I mean. tongue.gif
Daganev2005-02-02 00:28:11
actually I don't smile.gif

I havn't really explore astral all that much.

But if your curious, use Google, and you click on images. If its a known mythology, pictures will pop up.

Yeah, "The Drawing of the Three" by King was the first (and only) other time I've seen lobstrosities. Of course, the name Flagg also brings to mind a rather famous Stephen King character tongue.gif

Hah, someone finally caught me! Randall Flagg is the greatest villain in any creative work, ever.

I love the Dark Tower books! I even like how it all ended, though a lot of people were pretty upset about it.
Rauros2005-02-03 20:26:50
Forgive me for asking but... was Randall Flagg the hero/villian in The Stand?
Olan2005-02-03 20:39:04
Villian

Aye, the first time I saw you I thought... 'Oy!'.

'Olan' is Oy's way of saying 'Roland', to you unenlightened ones.
