You were the only one people noticed were doing it, mainly because you kept boasting about it on CT, and for better or worse you ignored them. As for the helping Celest, that's mainly out of survival. (Or, it was, and now it's devolved a bit from the necessity it used to be, but that's another matter.)

Lesson of the day... politics is everything.
Logic and reason and fairness mean nothing.

From an in-game perspective it's perfectly reasonable to lose a huge amount of lessons when you undergo a fundamental change of profession, like Warrior to Mage.
From an ooc perspective it seems simply ridiculous to waste over $150 worth in credits/lessons by switching certain classes. Apart from the fact that for some class change combinations you lose way more than for others, it's simply too heavy a penalty overall and the amount those with higher penalties do lose more than others is too much aswell, given the overall cost.
I think that's all there is to it really. It's a game, it should be fun, people sometimes want to try something different, $150 are ALOT of money.
Te fact that it costs more to do drastic changes to your profession than minor ones is great, just cut the overall penalty. It's too much.

Well, even if the ratios were shifted just a bit I think people would be happy. A 62.5% loss compared to a 25% loss is a bit heavy, huh?
Glad you actually looked at it from the OOC perspective too, unlike some people.

Numbers say 75% of people want changes.
Get to it, Buho

Yeah, it's hard for a character to find the right place. I still haven't. I think the penalties are way too high, for the reasons indicated above. Please change it. It has gone beyond making people think twice before changing class, and made them just go rogue, have misfit opinions where they are, and generally decreases the level of happiness.

Do I win yet..? (At least it isn't a Karma post. ^_~)

Who's Elaine? =/
Daganev2005-02-15 01:47:41
probabbly a mispelling of some other name.
I'm well known for that.

Maybe it's Eirene? *can only see that*

I think the penalty from between mage and guardian is fine, but knights get screwed. If there was another class knights could switch to with the same penalty as mage to guardian, then it'd be fine.

Now if only I waited before switching class...
Oh well, we won uhm... class switchers! I can post the new math if you all need.

Sure
Unknown2005-02-16 01:53:02
Let's see.. hopefully I'm not wrong.
The old way was:
1715 ---> (Forgetting skill leaving you at...) 1286 ---> 643 (Moving to new pool)
Now it is:
1715 ---> (Forgetting skill leaving you at...) 1372 ---> 960 (Moving to a new pool)

*cry* I could've been trans runes.
Unknown2005-02-16 01:58:35
I could've had.. some Runes. Now I'm going to go debate buying credits for a few hours, and then afterwards wonder where I'll find the money.
