someone explain to me how this is balance?

Ok, playing the cat and mouse game with tuek and narsrim.


They can spore all they like, with no repercussions and with no problem at all, just spore spore spore, they can even vitae/spore.

Yet when i get in trouble, I ghost. Tuek can then hit me for 900 damage a round when I'm ghost......They get all the escaping techniques, yet I try to get away and nearly DIE from their ability to attack me while ghosted.

Cmon!!! And death to vitae is not NEARLY close to death by praying, if its considered the same then let us vitae/ghost.

As a mugwump tuek can hit me twice with his violet thing before I can move. the EQ on it is too long.

Ghost is not a skill to be used to run away with. Its to be used on the offense.

You just fell for the lies of people who try to claim its an escape skill.


What I do to escape is turn off my triggers and teleport nexus, and hope my health stays up long enough.

Well then where are OUR version of spores?! Serenguard get to use spores so where is ours? Surely in beta testing they found spores to be too good.

I never heard about spores until recently. IT wasn't a major topic of discussion.

Combat wasn't very heavily done in beta in general, mostly hunting and quests and stuff.

Ur'guard get to die, we don't get to run away. We are undead, so we enjoy death or something like that.

No, I can only hit you once. The first time I just think you were two slow in moving, and I've never been able to repeat that. Twice shouldn't kill you anyway, once your gone, you are gone. As a bonus, they upgraded ghost so I cannot see you on the WHO list, so there is no way to track you, or consequently know where you are moving about if it is being used offensively.

So while they fixed a broken ability, they upgraded Ghost.

Edit: Besides, you ran as a lich, and then came back.. that just isn't a good idea. You could have escaped completely free.

So choose another class. Just because they have spores doesn't mean you get to have an equivalent.

Look, I've been a rogue serenguard the whole game. I have a distinct disadvantage in many ways. If I -really- cared about killing all the time, I'd find a way -around- thier skills. Or join a city, maybe change class.

I think my point is, if it doesn't completely unbalance the game, making it so that everyone can be owned by a single skill, then what does it matter?

Murphy, I suggest you ask Daevos how he manages to escape from trouble. As he is a really good fighter he seems to know when and how to retreat....and before anyone intends to add something smart, a good fighter knows how to be offensive but also knows when to leave.

It's fine. We get lichdom, they get spores. Just because one side gets something doesn't mean the other side gets the exact same skill, just as Richter said. I love Richter. Ban Shiri.

Don't forget, you have that amazing skill, LICH. Look you just happen to finally die? Well, you escape and live with only the lose of some power. I've seen Narsrim, Tuek and other Spores users die all the time, I rarely see a person Lich and then be stuck in an area with enough eye sigils and die again

Terenas, you're an idiot. Do you not get what I just said? You don't -need- something equal to everyone else's skill. That's why Lusternia's unique, we all don't have the same skills in different wording. We all have unique skillsets, each with their advantages and disadvantages. When you put them together, you've got perhaps the most complex combat system ever.. Oh, and you've got trueheal.

Clearly if we were so obsessed with balence we gave everyone different versions of the same skills Lusternia as a whole would be less interesting. When skills have to be balenced out as "equivalent" (i.e. spores/lich/ghost) there will be some people on either side who think that the other ability is more powerful. In reality, this is comparable to comparing apples and oranges, it's hard to assess their relative power because they serve different ends. Spores escape, lich and ghost have other applications besides escaping, but aren't as effective when it comes to escaping. It's hard to weigh if they're effective or nnot effective enough compared to spores because neither of these abilities is much like the spore ability.

We should just be happy we don't all have varieties of each other's skills. I think we can agree its better this way
