Ethelon - Lich? That's Trans.
Spores? That isn't. Just grab a spore from an ally's circle.

Rexali, read the post above yours.
Unknown2005-02-05 19:16:02
No.
I'm merely pointing out how comparing Lich to Spores is laughable, since Lich is a trans skill in a near-worthless skillset, and Spores is available to any Seren or Seren ally who wants it.

You have made no claim that Spores is more powerful then Lich, other then you complaining you can't kill them when they use the skill. Guess what, I'm sick of killing someone with lich which. allows them to get away then come back. I I kill them again, they leave.
Edit: Also, I don't see what the big deal about spores is. They already downgraded spores, I think its fine

Thorgal2005-02-05 20:22:57
Shiro, you've never had to fight someone using spores, then again, I think spores is fine too, IF it would just be confined to moondancers.
Unknown2005-02-05 20:50:02
And not allow entourages to follow
Shiri2005-02-05 20:57:31
Well, not player entourages.

And 99% of the time, the people who use spores are *gasp* Moondancers.
Shiri2005-02-05 22:48:44
Less than you'd think, Narsrim.

C'mone, we both know that's bullcrap.

When was the last time you saw anyone besides Narsrim or Tuek use spores? I'm pretty sure his number is screwed, but it doesn't ignore the fact that only a small number of people actually uses spores for escaping combat. The majority of the time, either the person panics and forgot to snort spores and die, or two, they don't have one handy. I agree that the blatant and constant use of spores by the SW raiders do need some looking into but so far IMO I haven't seen anyone offer any other useful solutions.
And from what I remember, isn't mushrooms in Nature? Since Wicca Specialization should be all just faes and Healing/Hexes/Moon don't have mushrooms. If this was true, why are the Hartstone druids not allowed to use spores?
Thorgal2005-02-08 21:48:19
Mushrooms is the mythical skill in Wicca.

I've seen quite a few celestians, esp. Amaru, and I believe I've seen Ethelon use them. I've not seen Ceres using them, but it'll only be a matter of time.
Shiri2005-02-08 21:54:56
...and Thorgal, ironically.
Thorgal2005-02-08 22:00:01
Oh yeah, back when I could use spores I never died a single time, after they forbid it, I'm down 4 levels.

So why don't you ghost? It's not as if anything restricts ghost considering eye sigils neither bring people out of phase or stops it.

In case you hadn't noticed:
- Ghost doesn't instantly transport you and your entourage to a safe room halfway across the planet.
- Ghost only works on the user.
- Ghost requires power, which a combatant may not have at a critical time (especially, for example, right after vitae death, when spores are most often used)
- Ghost requires people to run away quickly, and they can't do anything except move.
- There are skills that hurt people who are ghosted, and hurt them a lot.
- Most of the good warrior races have low int, and liches rarely have full willpower because we lose a ton during the day, more then we can regen in the short night. Ghost drains this pretty fast, and it is certainly possible to not escape in time.
- Ghost is a high level skill in a skillset that is pretty weak generally.
etc, etc.

DAMN YOU SERENWILDE
I've said my part on the Serenwilde bitching for now. Hopefully the Alchemy ban will be fixed and spores will get a counter other than afflictions like everything else. Otherwise, we can look forward to playing Serenwildia.

...eh, paralysis, webbed, roped, impaled, crucified, pinlegged, transfixed, off balance or equilibrium, sprawled, low mana, low willpower, power lower than 3, etc...every hindering affliction in existance stops ghosting.
It's mythical necromancy, it costs 3 power, 500 mana and 1500 willpower, it burns away 400 willpower a tick while you're ghosted, when willpower drops low, you die... and skills in low and highmagic will damage ghosted people for 1500 damage a pop.
Its only decent use lies in entering villages to sneak past the guards.
