Ogre's battle? Is that like Ogre Battle? I thought that was a strategy game. 0_o

Yes, Ogre Battle is a strategy game, but its definitely the best RPG series I have ever played (It is an RPG, either taking the form of tactics or strategy instead of the traditional you go/I go).

I'm in no condition to read these posts, BUT...

I love Chrono Trigger/Cross. I feel those are some of the best honestly. And maybe it's just the music, but CC has the best soundtrack of all Squaresoft games.

Aside from that, I can't wait for FF12, and I love final fantasy. My friends have told me Tales of Phantasia is awesome, but I have yet to try it. Been meaning to do that.

Fable is fun too.

For the Final Fantasy fans...

What is your opinions on Final Fantasy X-2?

Personally, I enjoyed it, and liked that you got to revisit all the old places from the original X. I've heard varied opinions though, like my roommate who absolutely hated it.

FFX? Strange, slightly odd story line, but in general, a good game. Except for the Omega Weapon, who brought pain and made me want to hurl the damn game away, and never look at it again? FFX2? Made me want to gouge my own eyes out with a spoon. Awful, horrible, satanic game. Dodgy combat, dodgy art, dodgy.. everything. I sure am glad I payed 80 bucks for the priviledge of playing pretty-princess-dress me up. Lets not forget all the sly comments slipped in there 'Its so big!' in a breathless tone of voice, as an example.

Yeah, 'cause we all couldn't tell that. whistling.gif

And FFX-2 was HORRIBLE. Everything Yrael said was true, except the thing about the sly comments, as I'm fairly sure the game was made by a team of 8 year olds who wouldn't have known better.

::shrugs:: I thought X-2 was alright wink.gif I wouldn't have spent $50 for it, but if I get a PS2, I'll grab it along with the other FF games.

FFX-2 Saw the screenies and knew what it was going to be like straight away biggrin.gif Meh i didn't mind it. Riku's g-string cracked me up and made me wince all at once smile.gif

That dress me up was from another FF job system. It was good how you could change it in mid battle..

FFXII now on the main character Ashe Is that meant to be a skirt or just some rags happy.gif

I loved FFX-2. I'm also a girl though, so obviously it was more appealing to me. Not to mention that my favorite Final fantasy character is Rikku. I loved it because I'm one of those people who runs around and looks behind every tree and corner for things, and I think FFX-2 is kind of a game that you take your time in and stuff. And I liked the story a lot. I almost beat it, I was at the last boss, but my brother -overwrote- my game. Accidentally, but I still flipped out xD.
Shiri2005-02-05 16:27:25
It's always the little brothers that overwrite important games. *mutter Armoured Core* And what, FFX-2 HAD a story? You were obviously looking a lot harder than I was Veonira. tongue.gif (Okay, and Rikku is kinda cool, but she got totally screwed up in FFX-2. And Yuna wasn't supposed to be so childish and whiny.)
Veonira2005-02-05 16:38:47
You know, the story with the different factions and Vegnagun? Yeah, I actually liked it. But I love sappy love stories, heh.

I hate Yuna. She really sounds like she's going to cry at all times. I love Rikku though, I think she was fine in FFX-2. But I also love the world of Spira because of the colors.

But, really, I can't wait until FFXII. And you know, I like Harvest Moon (Yes, I have a big site about it). It's a farming sim RPG game that's actually really fun. It can get repetitive, but it's still addictive. You just can't get away from feeling the need to water your crops and milk your cows. It also makes for interesting realizations (like the time I told my mom that I figured out how to make a cow pregnant tongue.gif).
Shiri2005-02-05 16:41:22
That was NOT a story, with that faction crud! tongue.gif And yes, the colours are nice.

And I love harvest moon. And I want FFXII too. sad.gif

Am I the only one who's been waiting with bated breath for Advent Children?
Fain2005-02-05 21:51:18
Bleh. Enough with your Final Fantasies.

The greatest RPG of all time is Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss

Find it abandonware and play it right now if you have never played it before.
Unknown2005-02-05 21:55:57
Labyrinth of Worlds is better.

::cringes::
Unknown2005-02-05 21:56:15
(and I really have played both, but didn't beat either).
Shiri2005-02-05 21:56:38
No, Rhysus, you are not.

Richter and I too.
Desdemona2005-02-05 21:58:29
Can't believe it.... You people have not mentioned Pokemon!
Yes, Pokemon is one of the best RPGs of all time.
Shiri2005-02-05 22:02:41
...no, no it isn't.

UW2 was great also, but the first one will always be my number one. It was the first game I ever got on CD Rom! I still play it to this day, it has more depth to it than most RPGs of today, except maybe Morrowind, which I consider an homage to UW.
Desdemona2005-02-05 22:22:09
Psh, in all honesty. Even though with the Cartoon and the commercial junk... Pokemon has a very nice concept. Quite different from the same trend RPGs.

Good RPGs are:

Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest/Warrior series, BoF series (mainly SNES versions), SoE, Seiken Densetsu series, Darkcloud 2, Legend of Legaia, Lufia series, Vagrant Story, Tales series, Azure Dreams, Super Mario RPG: LotSS... The list can go on, actually. RPG, Action Adventure, and Strategy games rule.
