We've had favourite bands and artists on this forum. What about songs that have made a real impact through your life and make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up every time you hear them.
Allysandra can crib a playlist for the radio station.
Here's a few for starters.
Throwing Muses: Garoux des Larmes tops the list which could pretty much include any of their songs.
Bjork: Violently Happy.
John Cale: Hallelujah - I know Leonard Cohen wrote the most beautiful song ever composed but John Cale sings it best for me.
Nina Simone: Feeling Good
White Stripes: Ball and Biscuit - Jack White says playing the blues is easy but he's just a big show off.
Rolling Stones: Angie - has me singing for days every time I hear it.
Janis Joplin: Summertime
Echo and the Bunnymen: Ocean Rain
Pink Floyd: The Nile Song
The Pogues: Young Ned of the Hill - memories of Kerry, the county that is.
Cocteau Twins: Frou Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires....
Misererre - preferably by the Trinity Male Voice choir: I want to be a monk when I grow up just for the voice training, definitely music to be played loud.

White Stripes - Black Math
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Give it away
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - By the way
Green Day - Time of your life
Audioslave - Cochise
QOTSA - First it Giveth
Yeah, not my favourite songs or bands, as such (though pretty damn good), but the tunes themselves are probably my favourites.
(By the way, I like the tactical use of the word "loins" in the title. We need more topic-titles like that!)

Alive. By Raiko. I bet no one knows it. Or like 4 people do. And I bet I know who they are too. (It are awesome. Albeit Japanese.)
Veonira2005-02-13 19:32:14
Evolution by Ayumi Hamasaki is grand..it's so upbeat. I wish I could sing along if only I knew Japanese :/!
And Big Bang Baby by Stone Temple Pilots.
I should stop now. I love too much music.

I don't speak Japanese, but I can still sing along...it just takes practice. And you sound stupid.
Dare datte shippai wa suru nda, hazukashii koto janai, kono kizu o muda ni shinaide, waratte arukereba ii...ignore grammar faults or anything, I can't help it. Also Owari Nai Yume, but I don't know who that's by. It's awesome nice though.
Also "When All Hope Has Faded", which ironically is a really inspiring thing by...*check* Zircon.
