If God is omnipotent (that is, can do anything), can He create a stone so heavy that He won't be able to lift it?

QUOTE(celahir @ Feb 12 2005, 11:32 AM)
Ah the true answer is that God can't do anything Illogical and it is Illogical to have something so heavy no one can lift it and a person who an lift anything as they cancel each other out.

Yup, quite right. It's like saying 'can He make pure light completely dark', or 'can He make 1=0' or 'can He make a topic which Shiri doesn't post in'. You're using a fallacy of language to create situations which not only can never be, but don't make sense in the first place.

Actually, according to the Zohar, that is exactly what happened when G-d created the world. Ofcourse, thats on a more spiritual understanding of the terms light and dark, but that is the language used. In hebrew it is called Tzimzum, or "The contraction" If interested Google has tons of info on it.Tzimzum

4) How do you get the elastic modulus?

Huhhhh. I think I know this one. Stress/Strain, right? So that's like...
((Extension))
----------------
((Original Length))

--------------------

((Force))
-----------------------
((Cross-sectional area))

*hopehope* Did I get it? Or is that upside down?

I'm told neopets work quite well. Then Jalain had to go and spoil it by saying I hadn't posted in it, of course.

Typhus2005-02-15 13:11:01
Shiri... Remember Arnold. No neopets for you.
Shiri2005-02-15 13:21:05
...0_o You wot? Is that an inside joke or something? What does Arnold have to do with it? I'm British if it's anything to do with Californian politics or something. *lost*

Nope, and Nope-not the modulus. Nice try though. At least you tried even 'one' of my questions. extention/original is average strain and Force over cross sectional area is shear stress.
Shiri2005-02-15 14:17:52
Damn. Well, I know that's Young's Modulus, we did it in Physics th'other week, I assumed that was the same as elastic modulus (I mean, we found it out by...stretching wires and stuff tongue.gif). Worth a try.

How can i get to Titan without bashing or questing?

What is the number Pie to the 1000000th decimal place?

and

Where did I leave my house keys?

Influencing and being very, very patient.

Pi to one million decimal places

and:

In your other trousers.

Daganev2005-03-04 03:41:21
will someone write a script and find out at which point in those 1 million numbers the pattern repeats itself?
celahir2005-03-04 12:51:07
I think Rexali has decided to stop posting
Summer2005-03-04 13:09:54
That's sad, but since we hijacked his thread anyway, we aren't posting stuff for him to answer.
celahir2005-03-04 15:30:21
I did, I really wanted to know where I left my house keys....
Shamarah2005-03-04 20:17:33
Rexali got banned from the forums by request. He said he was spending too much time on them and made a little post in General asking Shiri to ban him.
