Ah! My goat lost fair and square!
Must conserve energies for super Artisanal Entry this month!
And yes, Asper's was very pretty, I loved the soft feel and the excellent coloring, though it was not only his, I was surprised by how many good artists entered this month. Lumi's was especially gorgeous.

Asper's was... My god... I loved it.. Also Lumi's
Well I managed something with my entry.. I guess I'll have to work harder next time
But mine was so better than Balizar's

Submitted a piece myself, but with all these wonderful pieces I'm not surprised I didn't make it. Will be a motivation to put more work into what I do next time.
Small sidequestion though, is something hand drawn picked over something drawn in a graphics program? Submitted a render myself (google scetchup enhanced with photoshop) and going through the previous winners it seems those pieces hardly win?

Congratulations to all of the winners. I'm particularly taken by Lumi's beautiful self-portrait; such a pity that the JPEG formatting had its wicked way with it.
Hm, I'd imagine that relevance to Lusternia, and personal preference, have a greater impact on the judges' decisions than medium does. There's a strong history of successful Photoshopped entries, so, I wouldn't expect submitting computer-based art would put you at a disadvantage. Good luck for next time.

Some good pieces in there yet again. I noticed a few of the descriptions of bardic pieces were so long that they got cut off though.
Unknown2006-12-07 15:01:25
Is it just me, or did no one else receive the credits or anything from their piece?
EDIT: Nevermind, I got the credits I just got no IG message about them.

I know people rarely read the bardics, but I'd like to point out Zalana's "A Sheep's Tail" as one of the funniest ribald drinking songs we've ever seen. I can definitely see it being sung with much amusement in taverns and inns throughout the Basin!
Abethor2006-12-07 21:06:45
Just for the record, my picture is supposed to be horizontal. In case anybody was wondering what was going on there.
Unknown2006-12-07 23:10:21
I was so concerned that the judges wouldn't be able to make heads or tails of my poem.

Hmm, I know a certain Geo who will will be singing that when she's drunk...
And belated congrats to everyone Haven't read the bardic save for Zal's, but the artisanals were all quite lovely

Small problem with the winner bardic and one little complaint about the game's history: The Taint invaded centuries before the Coming of Estarra. Anyway... *ahem* the game's RP makes it seem like it happened right before CoE.
Furien2006-12-08 01:47:50
I (secret alt) never expected to win anything. Wheeee.
Vix2006-12-08 05:23:01
Glad I won, but it seems like my entries are being looked at a month late? Last month I didn't even enter that piece - I entered it the month before that. And in November I submitted a revised version of my poem (which I think is a lot less stupid revised). Not complaining too much though.
Edit: I should get my months straight. Last last month I entered a story that I actually entered last last last month.

Well, no big happening significance occured between marilynth's sacrifice and the CoE, so people kind of just swan over that part, because you can't really RP anything with it. If someone acts like the space between didn't exist, they're wrong.

ANNOUNCE NEWS #689
Date: 12/11/2006 at 22:44
From: Estarra, the Eternal
To : Everyone
Subj: Plagiarism
It really depresses me to have to keep announcing these things but
hopefully people will understand the gravity of submitting plagiarized
pieces as their own. One of last months artisanal winners has been
permanently shrubbed because of this. I am not sure what more I can do
to stress this but COPYING OR PLAGIARIZING WORKS OF OTHER ARTISTS IS A
SERIOUS MATTER -- DON'T DO IT!
Penned by My hand on the 3rd of Kiani, in the year 164 CE.
