Thanks. I totally missed it.
Heh, quite funny.

For what it's worth, my story wasn't written for the bardics, it was written for aslaran culture stuff, with the bardics as a sort of side-thought. That's why it's as long as it is, and why it doesn't try to sell itself -- it starts with an intentionally dry and stilted section which doesn't make it sound like it's going to be very interesting.

The web posting process seems to have converted the italics tags into text. I've asked if they could change them back so that the relevant passages are in italics as intended. Just so you know what those and are about.

Now I'm hoping I can get to put this into the game. Of course, it'll only end up being part of the story, like any bit of academic work; but it'll kick a lot of aslaran stuff into motion. Just waiting for the go-ahead; I've already lined up someone to discover it. smile.gif

I was thinking of doing a fable of the founding of the Serenguard next. This one would actually be written by Gwylifar though, and thus distinctly not canon as we don't really know how anything about the guild's founding.

cookie.gif I like the Southgard thing. And your current piece is pretty good!

...Even for a dry piece of information. I enjoy reading things like that, though - gives insight into the culture and such!

It's only the linguist's bit that's dry, though. After a few paragraphs, he shuts up and lets Nazeeni's journal tell the story (though he pops back in, usually at the most inconvenient moments, to be dry and academic again). But the lion's share of the story is story. Of course even there the language is a bit formal because, well, that's how Nazeeni writes, but it's not dry, just a bit grandiloquent. (Nazeeni is not an ancestor of Gwylifar, but her mother is.)

Congratulations.
This round's artisanals raise the standard! They're great.
I can't comment on bardics as I haven't read them.
Unknown2005-07-07 04:50:11
Holy smokes... I won!! *dances* This kicks so much ass ;___; I'm so happy.
Shiri2005-07-07 04:53:35
It's a damn good pic. smile.gif Better than most I've seen. Interesting subject too. Not a fan of some of the random Aslaran being depicted. :/
And I'm glad all the bardic entries were good this month, I don't feel so bad about losing now. biggrin.gif
