Why can't you have fun while drinking orange juice, or coke?
Honestly, you drink so you don't dehydrate, but alcohol just makes you more dehydrated while making you look like a total wanker in the process..
as for the pingpong bat hazing thing.. isn't that the type of crap that is getting people kicked out of the navy? and if you have to shove a pingpong bat up your ass to please your 'friends'.. Are you going to university on some kind of athletic scholarship? Because that's just damn stupid...

I don't drink, but I have no problem with those who do.

Orange juice and coke, just don't make your face feel all warm inside, nor does it loosen your inhbitions to talk about things that otherwise would not be talked about. Its a shame that some people talk about things that you don't -want- them to talk about while indulging in some alchohol, but it has some very possitive side affects.

As for how hurting other people equals more fun... I'm lost on that one.

I have no problem with drinking, I just don't like when people use age as an excuse. Maybe he can't think very well on his own, but I know lots of 18 year olds who can.

No 18 year old ever makes all the right choices all the time. Hell. No one makes all the right choices all the time. For many who are 18 they have been force fed crap their whole lives and once they get out on their own(well semi out on their own) they have to come to conclusions on their own and dont have their mom or dad their to tell them what they should and shouldnt do. You dont all of a sudden become mature at a certain age. It takes tempering.

I have fun whether I am drinking dr.pepper or bud light. I drink because I like the taste and because it provides a tingly sensation.

As for the hazing thing. No one was humiliated, beaten, or forced to drink if they didnt want to. It was all fun.

I like drinking. You can have fun while drinking sometimes. Unless you get emotional, like my best friend who always ends up crying. I think I'm pretty lucky, because I keep all common sense while drunk, and can act perfectly normal if need be. I just act..um...friendlier.

But I agree, you can have fun while not drinking. And drinking too much and having it be one of the only things you do when you go out isn't the best idea. It's all about balance!
