Umm... why do you 'have' to take physics Veonira... only a few majors actually require it...
Daganev2005-02-06 03:52:38
I took much more physics in highschool than in college.
Almost every math class teaches you little bits of physics.
How cany you say physics is harder to understand than biology?
Physics is basically three rules, with a bunch of math that explains all of it. Biology, doesn't seem to have any consistant rules, except for chemistry rules, and Chemistry is the most annoying science ever.
Ofcourse, I'm an art major, so they let me take non-science, science classes. (But I took AP calculus BC, and all of my highschool science classes were "advanced" ones.)

But I don't think everyone is going to be a doctor.
Also, I rarely ever go to the doctor: they have needles...

Oohh, I love how biology uses such short names for everything.
My opinion:
Chemistry comprehension == Biology comprehension
Last year when we were doing chemistry, me and my friend tried to bleach our hair with this bleaching kind of stuff. It was itchy.
In Biology, we couldn't do anything mischevious at all, and I don't want to touch any rat's intestines...
Nyla2005-02-06 05:38:15
Nementh dont make me get into my communications lecture on you. Thank goodness for AP tests and Political Science majors only needing 6 credit hours of science

Because I'm in High School. Technically it's not required but...you'd have to convince your guidance counselor and stuff to let you take a different science course.

Am I the only one here who enjoyed Mathematics and Physics? I got a lot of reading done in those classes... (and As in em all )
Unknown2005-02-06 08:44:41
I enjoy math and science. Not only are the subjects fun and intuitive for me, but the idiots around me (classmates and my physics teacher, who knows what he teaches but not how to teach) slow the pace of the class down so that I get to play FF3 in class on my laptop.
Shiri2005-02-06 10:46:46
I don't really like maths and science, but that's because I'm not really very good at maths (well, I know it's like my best subject, but I still suck at it, as most of you have gathered I'm not exactly smart )so the teachers make it painfully obvious I'm stupid, and the physics teachers suck.
I guess they COULD be good though.

I love learning about math and science, I hate -doing- math and science and being graded on it.
If school's and education wasn't such a battleground for politics I'd probabbly enjoy it better.

I love science, I just wish there was a creation science alternative. If the evolutionists are gonna get their religion taught, (Yes, evolution is a religion, it has not been proven any more than creation has.) then I want my religion taught too. *nod me*
Daganev2005-02-07 07:59:26
I believe the proper PC term now is "intelegent Design"... Creationism can't really be taught as any sort of science.

I was so good at Biology....too bad I didn't believe like half of it. Chemistry, passed with an A.
Nementh, did you have Mrs. Escalante or were you one of those AP nerds?
(No, Nementh and I aren't old buddies, I didn't find out he went to my school until Nikua told me like a few months ago.)

Erm, what exactly about biology did you "not believe"?
Edit: Nevermind. You're a Creationist. I'm so sorry for you. Poor ignorant thing. *pet*
Daganev2005-02-07 09:57:54
What so ignorant about not believing something in science that has little proof. Micro evolution, is a very different thing than Macro evolution.
Unknown2005-02-07 10:57:59
Evolution doesn't really explain human existing though, what with the whole "missing link" thing.

I hate physics with a passion. And I have to build a bridge to hold 2kg in a month, *cry*.

Triangles rock. They're so much more load-bearing than squares.
If I hadn't switched into Art, I'd be doing physics, chemistry and biology. The science teachers thought I was mentally unbalanced. But I guess I am, with my wide range of subjects.. Art, french, english lit, applic maths, biology, chemistry. We dislikes it, we does.
Laysus2005-02-07 12:29:10
just make a suspension bridge, you'll be able to hold loads!

That's me - going to double major in Mathematics (with Computer Science specialization) and English (with Creative Writing specialization).
Rhysus2005-02-07 16:00:01
The whole idea of a "missing link" is a myth propagated by Creationists in the first place based on old theories of evolution that have been outdated by modern research. Evolutionary epochs have been shown to occur in geologically short leaps of time, and unlike Darwin's original theory, the modern theory promotes the idea that extremely large changes on the macroscopic and microscopic level can occur at the species level with little to no intervening radiation.

On the Creationism gig as opposed to evolution
http://www.centralpets.com/pages/critterpa...s/WBD4315.shtml
That's what chickens were/are before they were first domesticated, some 3-5000 years ago. Dog breeds change as they are bred for different things. The Labradoodle is hardly a species known to pre-civilized man.
Creationism is a myth, just as Zeus and the Titans, etc., are myths.
