I think all it would take would be mindset abilities (like mobiles have) and additional effects. Seduction would cause effect similar to the Enrage ability of taurians, but specifically targetting enemies of the victor of the conversation. Charity attacks would cause them to remove a scaled (according to the strength of charity attack used) amount of gold from their pack and give it to the victor, Empowerment would invert, rather than empowering the loser, empower the winner, causing +1 to three random stats temporarily, Weaken would cause -1 to three random stats for the loser. After an influence battle, one would be too exaughsted to even consider attacking one who has so craftily defeated them with words for a short period of time, and the victor would be unable to attack or continue influencing the loser for a short period of time. Add an influence related ability into some guilds skillsets (most already have one) and there you have a fledgeling influence combat system (note that one could always try to hack their enemy to pieces while they are conversing, rendering the conversation moot if they manage to slay their enemy before they lose the conversation)

No. Its nice having a full skillset leanign towards mobs only. Besides, how many times have you been standing in Serenwilde when some random idiot runs up to you and just debates you when you are paying attention to CT or something...

Influence is entirely based on your level and ego, it requires virtually no skill. So unlike pvp, I person who has ability but not level would not be able to defeat a person with level but no ability.

The fact is Influence does not equal PvP under anything like the current system. Skillset after skillset after skillset exists at least in part ot facilitate PvP and provide different ways of carrying it out. Endless combinations of skills and strategies are possible. Numerous stats come into PvO, strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence. Influence centers around one skillset, influence, and one ability, charisma.
A true influence PvP system wouldbe limited at best, dangerous at worst. There simply exists to little variety, with too much power vested in a faeling with one trans skill and nothing else.
There are numerous ways of abusing your system anyhow, such as empowering lots of random newbies before a fight.
I just don't think PvP influence is viable under the current one skillset one ability system.
