Also, mushrooms are NOT fae. They are magical mushrooms. We don't bind mushrooms in Faethorn, we just conjure them. Hell, if you really want an explanation, make them Moon/Night only, like the Maiden, etc.

If you try to summon mushroom circles outside of a forest, the message says,
"The Fae do not harken your call." And yes, they are considered Fae. Mushrooms are living creatures afterall.

I'd argue that that's the default message for everything in Wicca except maybe Broom, and Toadcurse, and that it's simply a mechanical thing that comes from using the same syntax as the rest.
Mushrooms being actual fae is a bit hard to swallow. Maybe magically grown by fae or something I'd accept, but being fae themselves? Doesn't seem right.

Well, it isn't exactly your decision to make. The Moondancers have always considered them Fae and until Lisaera or some other all knowing source says otherwise, we can assume they are Fae. Wicca states clearly that in involves the summoning of Fae. We can summon mushroom circles. They are therefore Fae. Furthermore, that is not a default message in Wicca because it only comes into play with two abilities: dryad trees and mushroom circles. Whereas I would agree that both are quite unlike other Fae, simply because they are plant/fungi based and not the typical faerie creature you might conjure up, that doesn't mean jack.
By definition, the Fae the spirits of the forest. Ellindel Treeheart sought to cure the Fae and did so by giving them physical form. We can assume if she could make a pixie corporeal from spirit form that she could do the same for dryad trees and mushrooms.

*shrug* I was a Moondancer for a long time, never thought mushrooms were fae. Dryads are a spirit that comes with a tree, and/or is a part of the tree, not the tree itself. Mushrooms aren't.
Anyway, I'm done arguing, I'm not a Moondancer anymore, I don't care.

The Dryad IS actually the tree itself. You're using the OOC context. But if you watch when you summon a dryad, it comes out, spins around, and turns into a tree, like that.

They are Magick Mushrooms, hence why they're Fae, though it'd be a good idea, to have it that a Moondancer cant raise their Mushroom circle in the Glom Forest seeing as it's tainted and twisted, you know, the place they want to keep their fae away from, and Visa Versa for the Shadowdancers.
Having only allies to the raiser of the circle that can use the spore would be good, the idea of having them hurt anyone in the room is bad, since it means, Forests would have, totems, Guards and Circles for defence. Hurting enemies maybe, since as has been said here, they are Fae, though that'd mean the Dryad Tree would also be able to attack.
