Farewell for now.

Back to Common Grounds.

Well, I've decided to stop playing Lusternia until the potion ban thing is taken care of. The gods admit it's not an advantage they're supposed to have, but though it would take them 10 minutes to make it less severe a problem by making bob or someone else sell expensive potions, they choose not to do it. It's like if you're playing football and have your arms and legs tied up and the ref says, "Yeah, it's not supposed to be that way." but he doesn't take the time to untie you. I really have no intention to play the punching bag for Serenwilde just because they've become over 50% of the game.

So Lust is failing, and so is Imperian. I think they're failing for the same reason really. IRE has long thought that if they leave things unbalanced for awhile, it will titillate people into buying more credits and the advantages will outweigh the losses. That worked- back when IRE was the best thing on the market. It's not anymore. You're all going to have to start behaving more legitimately or the graphical mmorpg craze that has no end is sight is going to destroy you.

So, looking forward to playing again when things are able to have at least a pretense of fairness. Hopefully there'll be more than 60 people on at peak hours at that point.
Unknown2005-02-09 22:05:25
Damn you Jello, you talk me into coming to play Lusternia and then you leave it? I am going to do bad things to you.
Unknown2005-02-09 22:06:21
Well, the guy who talked me into coming to the game quit himself shortly after. I think I'm noticing another trend now. And Lust is more fun than the others besides a couple problems, so I'll probably be back unsure.gif
Bricriu2005-02-09 23:02:43
I've seriously considered, and still am, about quitting. It's so aggravating to see things going the way they are now. Everyone is flocking to Serenwilde, because they have the skills, the potions, and a huge advantage compared to the cities right now. The population there is more than Celest and Magnagora COMBINED.

Honestly...how much effort would it be to borrow a Seasone code from Achaea, alter it to reflect the new names for potions and such, and slap it onto Rowena, until another forestal community comes around, and make her a little tougher? Hell, it could even be a fun RP event, with Rowena sneaking into Serenwilde to learn of the Alembics...and when Glomdoring comes about, she teaches it to the (new) alembic users, forgetting it in the process?

It doesn't seem all that difficult of a choice to us, and would make a great deal of people (save those who control said potion monopoly) much happier.

Cya.

Sad to see you go, But the reasons are legit...
Olan2005-02-09 23:28:24
You know, its really sad it has come to this...If it were just a few people leaving or changing sides, it'd be pretty easy to dismiss...I hope the weight of those of us who are leaving or changing sides clues someone in to real problems.
Shiri2005-02-09 23:30:48
Yeah. There was this huge influx of people to Magnagora at the start of the game, and now it's evening out more. (This is discounting the vast proportion of Seren who are just random novices, which is more than Magnagora's.)
Silvanus2005-02-09 23:35:35
I've thought about leaving, and will probably be leaving unless things change too. And when that happens, I end mudding all together.

Edit: Especially since Geomancers demesne is such crap, and is so much worse then all the other Mages.
Daganev2005-02-09 23:36:34
Evening out?

Magnagora had at tops 30 players on. We still have a high 20 players on at the same time, however the quality of player goes down, with many leaving.

I'm finding Daganev becoming less of a follower and more of a leader and only because there is almost nobody left for me to follow.

This same thing happened to me. People wandering about, no one listening or planning, I'm trying to ask questions and look for a plan on Legion and on CT, and I don't even get a response. Not even a 'we don't have a leader.' And 20 at once is an overstatement, I can't remember the last time I saw that many people on. I can't even find an enchanter in Magnagora (even though I asked 3/hour).

Shiri, the idea that it's 'evening out' is absurd. Have you looked at the topguilds? It isn't just new players that Serenwilde dominates in.

Topguilds includes people who've only played for 24 hours, and/or don't take part in anything. I still see your point, and it is slightly imbalancing in our favour now (evening out was the wrong choice of words, I'll grant), I was just pointing out it's not quite as bad as it seems in that regard.

Also, that kept happening to me for a long while. The having to lead thing. As far as I know, it's nothing new. I'd been doing it the whole time during the war between Serenwilde and Magnagora, so I'm surprised you escaped it that long.
Daganev2005-02-09 23:47:03
Its not a matter of escaping it, I'm trying to keep my RP.

Daganev is now able to read and write, although badly, and its out of necesity more than anything else.
Shiri2005-02-09 23:48:18
The "escaping it" wasn't intended as derogatory, either. "Avoiding it", I could have said. Or, "Not had to deal with it."
Olan2005-02-09 23:48:37
Exactly, Daganev.
Daganev2005-02-09 23:52:28
hmm, maybe we are talking about leading in two differnt ways.

People are asking Daganev questions as if he has brains in his head and knows things other people don't. Why? because he's one of the few people around who do know things that other people don't.

And my charachter isn't even 30 yet!

I'm finding myself not being able to say "umm, me not know dese dings, ask someone else" because there is nobody else around to ask.

Was the question ever about the effort? What a backhanded insult! glare.gif

And why would Rowena need to be tougher!?! I think she's tough enough already! bop.gif

Anyway, I'll think about it.
Shiri2005-02-09 23:56:50
Ooooh. Prayers might be answered! Good on Estarra! happy.gif Go on, do something with vials, pwease? Just really expensive. But still doable. biggrin.gif
Silvanus2005-02-09 23:57:11
I've never seen anyone on Aetolia bash Seasone alone. Narsrim bashes Rowena, Brennan and company alone.
