Heh.. I think they were actually trying to be practicul, but it wound up just being plain stupid. But, your right, I like that one to. Any others?

Wow, no way they can all be true, some are just too stupid =P I'm wondering if there are any there that people adhere to (esspecially odd ones). For example, working on the roads. Kind of like Jury service, it could work, you know? Anyway, just curious.

Indiana has alot of old laws on the books from when it was the West of the time, or entering the modren area. See, we were the most hick to the west as you could get for a long time, and I think what started that was when Ford (I think it was Ford) did the Golden Mile campaign. For those that don't know, the Golden Mile campaign was were Ford built a modren day road about one mile long right in the middle of all the dirt roads and gravel. People liked the smooth ride so much they started adding on to it (which cost the state alot), and Ford profitted from it when there was an increased damands for cars as a result. So, I think the law is on the books from that era when the state was poor and wanted better roads, so it recruited people.

Oh, and don't rule my state's stupidity out of hand. We have the strangest culture I've seen in America so far. I mean, we have giant malls to shop in, but still enjoy going on the back roads at night and shooting potato guns at street signs... A cultured hick? A hick who is forced into actually urban areas? Who knows? I still get a laugh when I hear firecrackers going off under the bridges as cars pass overhead.
