0_o But it's not legit to avoid a 20 minute waiting time? Far's I'm concerned, they're losing 10 power in exchange for 20 minutes. It could be worse. This is about the LEAST important argument related to ghost.

With the arena, they are losing nothing.
Shiri2005-02-10 21:43:36
...same as losing nothing for summoning fae in the arena, as whoeveritwas says.

As I have said, I don't think arena should be a "insert-400-gold-for-free-defs-and-such" machine. My point is that ghost does a lot things like being able to spy, bypass totems or statues, etc. The downside is supposed to be a willpower drain that makes constant ghosting impossible. However, various methods are used to circumvent this drain and that's the problem.
Olan2005-02-10 21:46:13
Wait, wait...Let me get this straight...You're going to complain about people using lichdom and spending real, ACTUAL power to get willpower back, but turn around and say since no one has specifically told YOU not to def or summon fae in the arena, you're going to keep doing it until told otherwise?

No, Amaru has asked and was told it was ok as he has posted in the past.
Sylphas2005-02-10 21:48:04
When did he say that? Unless you guys all have a different topic to read than I do, he said he doesn't think the arena should be used for getting free defs, be that willpower, fae, or anything else.

Thorgal did just that and got issued when he used it to get WP back, they said because they didn't specifically state that using it like that is a bug they wouldn't punish him but not to use it for that purpose again. So using it for WP is bad, but abusing it to save Power is okay?

Yes, and this makes a ton of sense. Willpower, which costs nothing but time, is illegal to get back via arena, but power, which is a finite resource that serves as a primary motivation for conflict, is OK to use the arena to get around? YOur justification makes NO sense, and I wish wish wish something about power, defs, and ents would just get changed so you couldn't do this, since you all have no sense of morals.
Shiri2005-02-10 22:00:44
Like not losing them every time you quit? That would -really really really- be appreciated. And stop abuse. whistling.gif Go on, it'd be good for EVERYONE. Pwease?

Narsrim - do shut up. You bring nothing to Lusternia except your own childishness - Aetolia would be much obliged to see your return.

Note: Narsrim is definitely within the 5% I complain about in another thread on this board.

That is all.

Arena should be fixed to what Imperian is - everything you have going in is what you have going out. That's not a Lichdom problem but an arena problem.

Heh, I gave up a lot in Aetolia to come to Lusternia (I gave up my guild where I was the first guildmaster, being a ruler in a city who could have at any point been city leader, a high ranked member in the best Order in Aetolia, a top roleplayer, an event where I succeeded in tainting an angel, etc). And you know, I've enjoyed Lusternia ever since simply because I like how Estarra and Roark do things versus the other IRE games so... I think i'll stay.

Amazing, I never woulda guessed, but why'd you have Narsrim take such a complete turn away from that kind of character?

You have no idea what Narsrim does IC. I have several little IC-battle of wits with Fain 1-on-1 where he'll appear as I'm defiling a shrine and try to tempt me, etc. Furthermore, you have absolutely no idea what role or purpose I serve in my Order or in Serenwilde.
Thorgal2005-02-10 23:34:12
IC, you seem like a childish griefer, accusing others of the exact same thing you do, abusing bugs out of spite, petty insults, threats, power abuse, acting with nothing in mind other than causing grief, which you openly admitted, what image do you want us to get from you?

"I'm a mature, intelligent and honourable man, just not to you!"
Dumihru2005-02-10 23:36:27
ad hominem adj.
1 : appealing to feelings or prejudices rather than intellect
2 : marked by an attack on an opponent's character rather than by an answer to the contentions made
Daganev2005-02-10 23:38:13
That is no way to quote a dictionary! Can't you even use BOLD properly?!? Wheres your sources!!!!!?
Thorgal2005-02-10 23:38:21
Yes Dumihru, that's exactly what I mean, that's what's been going on for the last few hours now, you included.
Shiri2005-02-10 23:40:43
Dumihru's not been using ad hominem arguments. Her arguments attack the point, not the person. That's something you could stand to get in the habit of. I'm sure you have it in you to be logical, as you've done it before, but you get angry too easily, and start insulting people in lieu of actually making valid points. Which makes your argument worse every time.
Thorgal2005-02-10 23:43:51
And yet I've never been actually proven wrong without accepting defeat. So the arguments I keep, must hold truth, in whichever way I do so. If I get pissed when people try to convince me one and one is three over and over, without showing proof, deal with it smile.gif.

There are three possible outcomes to a discussion, I either lose, win, or stagnate.

If I win, I get strengthened in my beliefs... if I lose, I learn something new about the subject of the discussion, and about myself, if it stagnates, I start calling people retards, cause then we're in an impasse that serves nothing but wasting time.
