Has anyone noticed how ridiculous and unbalanced it is for Ur'guard to bash?
Considering the following:
Fullplate + Putrefaction + other damage resistance abilities + Lichdom + Surge + etc... I've seen Daevos tank like 20 city guards at one time before... doesn't this send out red flags that there is a problem? I have seen Ur'guard bash Astral... 20 levels lower than me... without using health vials. They have enough health to easily kill something and then just puella themselves back to full health (at high levels, puella can heal like 1500 health per cast with surge, etc... ridiculous) and repeat.

Narsrim, what IS your problem today? Something actually gets fixed, so you have to complain and complain and complain?
Grow up.
Grow up.

The problem is that other stuff needs fixed to and I plan to help point out what that is. You cannot dispute what I'm saying Bricriu. You can only try and play word games. Let's hear you come up with a decent argument that deals with what I wrote about how easy and ridiculous bashing can be for Ur'guard.
Daganev2005-02-10 20:43:16
I would like to point at Tuek who does the exact same thing.
I would then like to point at all the Ur'guard who CAN'T handle 20 guards or astral.

That is probably because some of you are not creative enough to take advantage of the situation. Furthermore, Tuek cannot TANK 20 guards at a time. He can, however, sneak around a pick off groups of 4-5, etc. And is someone going to comment on how EASY and POSSIBLE the situation I initially described is where an Ur'guard could readily bash with no health vials, at exceptional speed, and shrug off any damage because... have 5,000-7,000 health and take 200 damage a hit per astral creature? Look at Gruhk and now Melanchthon...
Bricriu2005-02-10 20:46:07
I can dispute what you say, however, Narsrim. My point was, you obviously have some maturity problems, and need to GROW UP.
Ur'Guard are not the only ones that can use all those abilities. Several people can wear the armour they have, depending on class. Others can use the skills, as well, (such as Nihilists, for Lichdom and Putrefaction.) Plus, Several of the people you whine on and on about, have VERY high levels - of course they are going to have more health than an average person does, especially with Race factor.
You are only being childish - it is perfectly fine when you are in an organization that has several groupable skills to use to your advantage, especially if you use them well.
If anyone else has a chance, though, you deem it overpowered, because it means you actually have to work against one of the best fighters to try and win. Use the same arguement I've seen thrown about by Seren - Just because ONE person excels in something, does not make the entire thing overpowered.
In other words, stop whining already.

Obviously, you have no idea what you are talking about. First, I'm not being childish. You and several others did this exact same thing with my skills which have all been downgraded as a result. It is my turn to point out how ridiculous some of yours are.
Now, time to break apart your pitiful post:
1. Ur'guard can get fullplate. This is EXCEPTIONALLY better than ANY OTHER former of armour thus it means a lot
2. Yes, Bricriu, other people do get some similar skills but the exact combination that adds up to being able to bash 20 city guards is primarly restricted to Ur'guard
3. Gruhk bashing explosively into rank 3 from nowhere because of this. It works just as well bashing lower level stuff as it does on astral. He started off using this extreme advantage early on and proved how powerful it can be.
4. Stick to the topic. You are trying to diffuse my argument by whining that I am whining after your whining worked. Don't bother wasting my time.

I understand that it may seem unfair, but you are off base here and relying solely on second hand information. First off, only about half of the ur'guard who have trans tradeskills chose forging. Second, fullplate stats are NOT MUCH better than fieldplate. I have also noticed that putrefaction has been downgraded a touch recently. Surge is nice, but that's not specific to ur'Guard, so that argument stops right there. Surge is at mythical athletics, fullplate is trans forging, lichdom trans necromancy. That's a high price to pay for the bonuses. Stop whining.
Let me put it in perspective, Tuek takes about the same damage as me from astral denizens. If you want to keep up this unfounded argument, I can further break it down for you. "20 levels lower than" you? ALL KNIGHTS have the potential to do as much. Knights are supposed to be tough and we don't have ents.
Bricriu2005-02-10 20:56:53
Shhhh, Ixion. Narsrim is just ranting. Making sense just won't make any sense for him right now.

-Other classes that can wear fullplate don't have putrefaction as well
-Other classes that have Putrefaction and Lichdom don't have fullplate as well.
-Ever thought those people have "VERY high levels" because they can bash so well?

Melanchthon was NOT AN UR'GUARD until recently, and hasn't hunted since he joined the ur'guard, so don't even think about using him in your arguments.
I spend much more time than you on astral Narsrim (except when I was inactive during the holidays), and we are the same level

Umm, the point of this thread is that whereas there are certain abilities that make bashing easier, they all seem to come together and be possible for Ur'guard. It has nothing to do with a "high price" for bonuses. NO OTHER omni-trans class can bash as easy as a tri-trans Ur'guard. That's the issue. Furthermore, just because you don't have ents does not mean that you should bash 25x faster than any other class. Serenguard don't have ents. They also don't have putrefaction and lichdom or puella. Why did Melanchthon switch to being an Ur'guard... because its ridiculously easier!
Bricriu2005-02-10 21:00:34
Exhibit A, then, Ceres. Melanchthon. I suppose Nihilists are wildly overpowered in the bashing category, seeing as how we ALSO are Fullplate ridden, experience boosted low magic skill users, have a variety of attacks beyond cosmicfire....oh, wait, we aren't. And even without all that, he could fight his way to number 1, as a NIHILIST. He only recently changed to be with his IC brother.
Narsrim is just whining because things are getting balanced, and it makes things harder for him.

He switched because I asked him to, so we could RP as brothers. Again you assume what you have no clue about. We don't have ents and I personally feel that it hurts us overall in combat. As such, it makes sense that knights have a little more ease at bashing. Think about it.. A bull ramming a knight, or some mage/guardian. Of course knights should be able to handle them better.
Ceres2005-02-10 21:04:21
Any class can bash to a high level if you spend enough time. If I spent 99% of my time on Astral, I'd be level 90.
The point is, within a given time, Ur'guard level more quickly.
