If you get that job at TOR, I will be coming to visit you.
We will be breaking into their building, and we will be tracking down every single document, file, and book in any way related to Robert Jordan.
Then we will BURN them.

Drago2005-02-11 03:37:47
I agree with Raan. Let him finish the damn series first.

Indeed, then we can burn all of that horrible filth at the same time.

I like Robert Jordan.

Here here Guido. I've never understood why so many in the MUD community seems to want to suckle at Robert Jordan's proverbial nipple for the rest of their lives. The guy's a hack, I can't stand his books. Just call the series "Wheel of Cliches" or something.

And here I thought I was the only one who didn't like his books.
We better go hide from the lynch mobs now.

Heh, I like them, but I was too cheap to go out and just buy them, so I read them from my local library.. The problem, however, was that certain books (5, 7, 9) were missing, so the plot just kinda went downhill. I did enjoy the work though, even if you can see the plot twists coming from a mile away. Now I just need to read the book were they cure the weather with that stupid bowl..

Robert Jordan is good .
Well, it gets boring in the second half of the series, but when something finally does happen it's like OMFG SOMETHING HAPPENED, EXCITEMENT!!!
The first 3 books roxxored your boxxors though. Even though I thought the first was kinda like LOTR.
And let him finish the series. For some reason, I can't stop reading it...(even all the parts where absolutely NOTHING happens).

And from I hear, Robert Jordan is the reason a lot of other lesser-known titles make it to print. He's making Tor a fortune.

Everything up to "so" is extraneous.
Jordan just needs to figure out how to keep the plot moving, that's really his only problem. Kill off a few characters, or have them join up and work together or just have them _do_ something.

What I liked most about his books was the magic system, the politics and the male/female relationship dialogues. I don't think any of those aspects are really all that cliched.
