Some ideas for alterations when the Wicca skillset is updated (posted here because feedback often provides better stuff than I can come up with):

- Make Fae attacks faster and more powerful while in forest, but have each of them drain some kind of quantity while outside it, much like Blood in Aetolia, only call it charm or fey or something. While the Moondancer is on the Ethereal plane this quantity will regenerate - it represents the ethereal allure of the Moondancer. If they have no visible link to the Ethereal realm, the fae won't follow their commands.

(This will not only balance leading large entourages around enemy locations for long periods of time, and give Moondancers an offensive advantage in the forest which we are mostly lacking, it will also encourage more presence on the Ethereal realm)

- Make Sylph have a (-very-) small chance of blocking thrown runes.

(Because basically it does nothing now)

- Allow us to use the Tree totem in the presence of dryad trees, or alternatively, change dryad entirely. Rather than simply summoning a tree, it could be used as an offensive measure. For instance:

Syntax: FAESUMMON DRYAD (1 power)
A powerful tree-spirit, the dryad will whisper to any trees in your location, causing them to attempt to strangle your enemy with their branches. Her whisperings will only be heard in untainted forest environments.

(Basically because Hartstone can already summon ethereal forest, which is much better than summoning a single tree. Tuek and Narsrim might disagree with me, but dryad trees seem kind of useless. Note this is strangling, ie, asphyxiation.)

- Allow our fae to be concealed for 1 power.

- Allow nymph to pacify all creatures, including aggressives, but randomize the time at which she does it, so that there is a very small chance she won't pacify at all for about 30 seconds or so.

(Because it is too easy to time attacks with nymph now so that there is no danger whatsoever. It also seems silly that the only creatures she will pacify, are the ones we actually attack in the first place.)

- Make willowisp unable to be blocked by monolith sigils but instead blocked by shield, and also keep its current small chance of being resisted naturally.

(Because we can't destroy monolith sigils without assistance from a city.)

- Include some more faerie magicks, such as an enchantment that can be embedded in a room to make your enemies dance repeatedly. Each dance drains their endurance. laugh.gif Or, how about a spell that makes us appear like someone else, or a spell that ingrains an annoying melody in someone's head, so they randomly keep humming it and forgetting what they were doing. Oh, and please please please do this 43756.

Other ideas?

*prod Hiriako* Yeah, he should have reported that Sylph thing eons ago.

I don't like your first idea, though. I object to the guardian type being locale-restricted like that.
Dryad, I like.
I would love the tune curse thing just for RP, it wouldn't even have to do anything.
Mask, yes yes yes.
Willowisp needs to ignore liths but have a high resistant rate, or even a timer.
Nymph, no, her passification shouldn't work on aggro mobs.
Tree totem would be good too.

There we are.
Laysus2005-02-11 02:52:17
I'd die so much more without nymph's regular timing, and that's as a level 63-ish person hunting mainly in glomdoring, where nothing's especially bad.

Give Faeling a specialization! *comfort Laysus*
Hiriako2005-02-11 02:58:41
Note.

I am Hiriako.

Hiriako->Envoy. Not that it wasn't already established. Anyway, now that it is in case you're not sure...

Some things were already suggested, some things are on my list to suggest with the next Envoy report. When they are due. I do repeat, even if you suggest things here, -please- message me in-game, as I do not have the time to read the forums much these days, with work getting busier for me.
Merloch2005-02-11 03:12:19
I think his reason for the forums is..

To..Get Feedback, on ideas.

Which is why he stated that.
Shiri2005-02-11 03:15:50
Yeah, but Hiriako means he should message him IG too. tongue.gif Gotta do both. wink.gif
Elryn2005-02-11 03:18:04
Well, I have already submitted some to Hiriako in-game already, I just thought I'd see what else we could come up with before I did the rest.
Shiri2005-02-11 03:19:53
*peer Hiriako* Well, he said you didn't. *gives him a talking-to later*
Elryn2005-02-11 03:20:29
And I don't think its making fae locale-restricted, only giving them an advantage in one area and a disadvantage in another. You can't carry large entourages of fae outside the forest for long raids. You can take one or two for a long while, but not ten of them.
Yrael2005-02-11 03:30:21
You mean you arent good enough already?
Perhaps make your Ethereal Allure drain at the same rate as willpower while ghosted. And, and, and, and, and, make it so Ethereal forests just reduce the rate of decay, not stop it. Nyah.
Elryn2005-02-11 03:35:01
No, it would drain much slower. So that you could last for a raid outside the forest, but you couldn't engage in a siege sort of thing. And ethereal forests would be ethereal... they would be -more- suited to maintaining the allure than natural forests in some ways. So no, it wouldn't drain slower.

Ok now its time to do something totally out of character and -agree- with moondancers needing some form of upgrade.

Personally for offense, Tuek and Dumihru use hexes really really well, but that leaves a lot for the rest of you.
Shiri2005-02-11 11:16:36
Eh...giving them an advantage in one location and a disadvantage in another -is- locale restricted. I mean restricted as in restrained, not prevented. The idea just sort of bothers me that if we don't stay in a forest, we basically can't be fully deffed, so if we get jumped, we die. (...okay, spores if we thought ahead, but still. Celestines & Nihilist w/hermit tarot don't have to do that sort of thing.)
Hiriako2005-02-11 18:32:02
The difficult part of working with the Moondancers is that we have only one skillset unique to us, and that is Wicca.

Nature, Totems, Moon, Healing and Hexes are all had by at least one other guild, so I have to consider how those changes will affect those guilds when I make suggestions.

Nature and Totems are fine, no real changes needed for either. Moon could use some minor tweaks, but since skills were added it is a great skillset. Wicca, I would like to see expanded a bit. The issue rather is how to do so, what we need to augment it fairly. Healing is a good skillset, despite the complaints I get. Hexes requires creativity, but even those who seem to use it well like Tuek complain about the uselessness of the set. I had it myself for a while, and found it very handy. Basically though, we have what nearly anybody would agree are the weaker two of the guardian support skillsets (Tarot, Healing and Hexes) and we have good reasons to keep the two. It's a matter of how to -evenly- augment our skills.

If anyone happens to have thoughts on this, I would love to hear them.
Shiri2005-02-11 18:37:37
Far as it goes, Hiriako, Moon's not that great, because Serenguard have to deal with it and it just doesn't DO a whole lot to them. What the heck are they going to do with Moonlash? Or Moonburst, or whatever else?
Sylphas2005-02-12 00:29:37
Sylph -needs- to do something. Nothing is worse than having an absolutely useless skill. As much as people complain about other skills, at least they do more than look pretty.

Dryad could be better, but it's ok as is. Scan + dryad is nice, although you have to have high discernment to do it. Also allows seize/shove. I think if more people learn to utilize it better, it won't seem to suck as much.

Oh, and does anyone actually use faeriefire?
Shiri2005-02-12 00:32:19
I think I used faeriefire to help Gelthrae out ages ago during Dairuchi influencing once. I think it like...helped a tiny weeny bit. It's in the wrong skillset, though, really.
