ohmy.gif Just disbelief.

About four citizens of Magnagora just announced that they are quitting, among them Bricriu, Thorgal, and Torak.
Thorgal2005-02-12 20:39:29
We should just restore the experience gain/loss back to what it was at the beginning, kill the avenger, kill karma and use pk rules...this is rubbish, farewell.
Shiri2005-02-12 20:39:39
Seems fine to me. I heard champions are exempt though, Ceres, so no worries.
Unknown2005-02-12 20:39:44
I think it's an awesome idea and I'm looking forward to see how it turns out...

Though I guess it might be fair to do a flat reset of the avenger lists so people aren't screwed over for killings they did before this change... maybe... though... maybe not orc.gif

Well, way to ruin Lusternia, great job, next you can write a tome of rules like achaea, take out all spells, and make it a giant friendly chat room where we all dance and sing with pixies, this is disgusting.
Unknown2005-02-12 20:41:37
I'm really starting to think PK Flags are the way to go. Let all the idiots who like to kill each other kill each other, let everyone else get along as they wish.

Don't forget, FFAs every five minutes so people can 'fight'.
Ceres2005-02-12 20:43:21
I'm not immune, Shiri.

I'm only immune from losing karma from killing people.

Scenario:

I have 100 karma.
I kill Bob.
I kill Fred.
I have 100 karma.
Bob curses me!
I lift my curse.
I have 25 karma.
Fred curses me!
I cannot lift my curse.
I have 25 karma.
I am stuck with a curse for 50 real days.

Just to clarify in case people overlooked it, this is sort of in substitution of the avenger since you drop your suspect status. It's more of an RP way to do it. Bring down the wrath of nature from the nature seal if you are a forestal, etc. rather than calling a random avatar from Avechna.
Soril2005-02-12 20:43:32
I'm still rather confused as to the actual working of this... The post and the Help file don't really explain it too well.

What are the definitions of 'enemy territory' in this, and who do they apply to, the killer or the victim?

I'm all confuzzled... wacko.gif huh.gif unsure.gif

**Bah! Edited to fix spelling.**

And that's why I love it biggrin.gif
Not to forget the blessing part, which people of course once again don't even mention... I think it's great, unless it turns out to be highly abusable for some reason... Though, seeing as curses require suspect status, and what it takes to get that one...

I would far, far rather die and pray even 10 times than be stuck with one of these curses.
Unknown2005-02-12 20:48:19
I'm thinking about ways to gain this karma.
What if I don't like to quest, or prefer to bash astral most of the time?
Why should I be at a disadvantage then?
I'm confused about it.
Veonira2005-02-12 20:48:31
Eh...I don't like the sounds of it. I'm not even going to bother with it. Maybe in 50 days I'll get myself a blessing or something. And if someone curses me, I'll probably just sit around and do nothing for 25 hours, because I hate quests.

It almost sounds like it's not going to be used much, but you know someone is going to come around and abuse it.

Enemy territory is the list of orgs that have enemied you. See the STAT command. Basically what that means is that PK in an uninfluenced village is completely open now.
Amaru2005-02-12 20:49:15
Heh. Let's see how many:

- Non-PKers like this concept
- Pkers like this concept.

Did I say excessive PKers? No. I said PKers. Ask any entirely non-PKer and they will have never had a problem with being PK'd excessively (if at all).

Thanks Roark. You're the man! cool.gif wink.gif

I'm kind of curious also. What if some jerk jumps me and I somehow manage to kill him. Then they can curse me for that? The more I think about it, the more I'm not sure how many people are going to go out of their way to curse (I know that I certainly won't), but I feel like there are so many situations where if you -did- happen to get cursed, it wouldn't just be because you're an excessive PK'er, and that's unappealing.
