They could just have an enchanter destroy the eye sigils.

That would mean they'd have to get inside the locked stockroom in the first place, in which case they can't.
Yrael2005-02-14 00:55:29
Best bet is to whack them in the store itself, not the stockroom.
Unknown2005-02-14 01:00:35
No, the eye sigils belong in the stockroom, that way, there is no way to enter the stockroom as a soul, while waiting for Lichdom. If you put it in the shop itself, you could enter the shop, then heartstop and go down.
Yrael2005-02-14 01:03:19
Really? I've never been able to move on an eye sigil as a Soul. Okies.
Unknown2005-02-14 01:05:42
Eye sigils certainly are mentioned in the serenwilder shopkeeping policy, because I know I added them there. For a reason.
Torak2005-02-14 01:16:09
Thievery is damn fun..that is all.
Desdemona2005-02-14 02:09:15
What Lusternia needs is the Anonymous Vigilante Association, made from righteous people willing to render justice and punish all who deserve it... even at the costs of their very souls. tongue.gif

Vigilantes Assemble!
Yrael2005-02-14 02:14:45
You mean they'll all follow me around and slaughter me?
Daganev2005-02-14 02:15:26
A world without a theif is a world with nothing worth stealing.
Dumihru2005-02-14 17:26:27
As a world without aggressors is a world with nothing worth fighting for and nothing worth dying for.

Because you can't force give?

Of course pooka can force give. However for some reason, you temporarily had the fabled "Terenas bug" where your would resist forces as if pooka wasn't in control. Damn bugs.

Sadly Daganev is right. A mud without thieves is missing something but then I think it should be done by thieves and not mages or guardians. One might think that such guilds have some standards and make better use of their skills than just for some lowly thieving.
Oh, and Torak, thieving might be fun for you but somehow I have the feeling if you would get robbed blind that you wouldn't find it funny at all.
Stealing and all makes sense in a mud but you should never forget that stealing is one of the very few ways to really hurt your victim, so it should be used only very occasionally.
Torak2005-02-15 01:06:32
I have been robbed before, its fine, its life. Besides, I come from achaea where I have been robbed countless times. Its countered by a simple trigger..
Daganev2005-02-15 01:07:21
The only reason I'm dissapointed in Yrael is because people know its him stealing.

Otherwise, I see little wrong with what he was doing.

Next time someone starts robbing stores, be more secretive.

Stealing in moderation, a couple of items or a little gold, can be interesting and promote conflict... but cleaning out entire stockrooms or packs is totally demoralizing to the player.

I can't think of anything more discouraging than losing things you have worked for RL weeks on. It is cruel and anyone who says that its just part of the game is being rather naive about its effects.

If you can get into stockrooms, why not take a few of the most valuable items, rather than everything? If you can steal from a player, why not just take a piece of armour, valuable item, or a few thousand gold from them... rather than everything they are carrying?

Most of the time, rampant thieves just don't really think about what they're stealing:
