That's actually a pretty good idea to draw people to Lusternia, having screenshots from systems like that. I know that a number of other muds have screenshots of their mud, no reason we couldn't do the same to attract more players.
Amaru2005-03-07 22:35:28
The problem is, it could be seen as attracting the wrong players, or for the wrong reasons (the latter could be acceptable if they turn out right).
If they fear the lack of graphics, Lusternia probably isn't for them anyway.

I think it'd be lovely myself if it were possible and easy to install/setup as a zMud plug-in (or however you'd call it). However, I don't know anything about zMud as I still use old faithful TF. If a group of you were interested in such a project, however, let me know!
Daganev2005-03-07 22:42:30
I would be interested.
Amaru2005-03-07 22:44:21
I could provide a few images on demand.

Definitely, but then again, it'd be hard to miss all the text in the middle. I'm sure most people that stumble upon Lusternia would realize it's a text-based game though.

That actually reminds me of Sarapis's response on the forum when someone brought up graphic.
QUOTE(Sarapis @ Nov 19 2004, 07:24 PM)
What?? That's freaking absurd. Have you SEEN the smiley faces you get when you smoke cactus weed? Come on, those are graphical MASTERPIECES.

Just to backtrack for a second... a very graphic demonstration of multiple monitors is here... LOOK! The first one shows an image extended over 3 monitors, the third shows multiple windows having their own distinct spaces. Sadly, I can't get one of these yet so I've jury rigged three lcd's in a row and my other computer has an old KDS CRT.
Back to the ZMUD interfaces... so ultimately because they're user dimension specific... in order to replicate you'd have to have the exact same what? I'll assume a. dimensions for your monitor... would someone on a 17" monitor have a problem versus 19" if the dimensions were still the exact same in regards to Windows display settings?

Apparently so. I had problems when transferring my system from my 17" to a smaller monitor, both on 1024x758 resolution.

For those who are interested in creating a zMud graphical packet for Lusternia, I've made a private, invitation-only forum to discuss the project. If you are interested in joining the discussion, please message me.

Thorgal where did you get those pictures from I'm after some inspiration and examples I could work on to make my interface just as artistic.
Thorgal2005-03-08 16:27:41
Well, I sent my system to various friends using different monitors, and there never were any problems.
And I just google around the internet for nifty pics, then edit them using paintshop and photoshop.
My system interface still rocks yours Ammy, get workin'!

Done with mine. I can't fit in things like your borders, just takes up too much space. You can consider yourself the winner.
celahir2005-03-10 13:26:07
AHH dont give up!
Amaru2005-03-10 15:05:32
I'm not. I'm happy with it.
Amaru2005-05-20 19:02:01
It's back on, Thorgal. This is for calling me Ammy.
Thorgal2005-05-20 19:22:02
Meh, that looks damn sweet, lemme grab mine for comparison.
