Just an idea for using the lunar cycle to aide planar travel.

Set up a series of moongates that link the prime to a specific plane at a specific lunar cycle so travel to any plane would be a quick hop from the prime based on what lunar cycle it was.

If the moongates showed up in a random location each cycle that would be wild.
