That's the same as saying that the skills that strip those defenses have no chance too. (Well, admittedly I don't think they got much of a chance either, but it is rather the same).

Spring strips a random defense and does not tell the target what defense is stripped. This is superior to removing blind/deaf/insomnia. Furthermore, if you strip a defense that takes power to put back up then at least it costs post to regain. Furthermore, it takes balance/eq to put up 99% of defenses.
Curing deafness (for a Healer) does nothing. There is no possible gain.
Curing blindness (for a Healer) has no use except if you are a trans Jeweler with a transfix-gem. However, anyone can eat 2 faeleaf and again have sixth sense 2 seconds before you even regain equilibrium
Curing insomnia does little to nothing because for a mere 100 mana, it can be restored. Furthermore, it takes more mana to cure insomnia than it does to put it back up. You are actually wasting your own mana and time in this situation.
Given how long it takes to cure another person, this tactic is utterly useless. There is no possible benefit.

Not everyone fights alone. Weren't so many people saying that most fights occur in teams?

Point?

That it might just be helpful in a team setting.

You'd have to have something like someone triggering to abjure sleep/pooka forcesleeping when they saw Narsrim cure someone. Ehhh. It really wouldn't be that great, there are better things to do.

Hmmm, another thing I was thinking on, maybe have a Healers travel skill, to get the combat medics into battle faster, or out with the corpse to ress/heal....
Healers Call
Power: 1 (any)
With extreme focus you can force your way across the lands to those who have you allied.
This would first only work on those who have you allied. This would be instantaneous and yes, stopped by monoliths. I don't think this would be to overpowered in any way, takes power so can't be used as vitae escape.
Another though would be to allow healers to have something like the Nirvana skill from the priests in Aetolia (same in Achaea?), a little safe haven to go to, though it was never really safe in the other realm, but still.
Any other suggestions for something like this...not saying these are good ones, but if better thoughts arise...

Like a reverse empress. Works for me.
And I have no idea what the sanctuary thing is, could you enlighten us first?

It was in Aetolia. Any priest who abused it was threated to get their angel taken away by the Arch Angel Triad

Anyhoo, I would -love- this ability specifically if it took power.
Ethelon2005-02-20 03:24:34
The skill allowed the priest to go to a safe room which was located in the middle of the realm about, it had rules and in Aetolia I don't think evil aligned characters could enter. The priests werre able to bring otehrs with them also I think.
I agree, it would be great to have that here, even if it did cost power to use.

Not really appropriate for healing, tho. :/
Ethelon2005-02-20 03:32:53
could be a medical circle, maybe an area which enhanced our farhealing powers, allowing us to help people from across the lands?
no matter what, something needs to be changed about healing, it needs to be made better.

How about FARHEAL DEAFNESS + ORDER DEMON DOMINATE So-and-So?
Shiri2005-02-22 01:32:42
No one who has a demon has farheal. Nihilists can't get it, only tarot/hexes.
Also, you can't dominate from a distance.

Ah yes, a Moondancer (who would get outguilded for doing this) or a Celestine (who would get outguilded for doing this) pairing with a Nihilist..
Unknown2005-02-22 01:47:27
My point was I think that healing is lame, because it negates afflictions or turns them into an advantage for the afflicted, and giving afflictions is what the entire fighting system is about.
