I complain to friends online too. In fact, even more so because I actually have known some for longer than I've known some of my best friends from school.

Physical exercise is actually really good for stress release. A good 10 minute run (if you are unfit, longer if you need it) should take it out of you.

Oooooh, man.. I just got an email back and it said I could check my enrollment and timetable online.. but when I went to the site, I relised that I have a student number and PIN instead of a student number and password.. so I can't check either.
I'm almost crying and tearing my hair out in worry now.

I count doubles in my head until I lose track. 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, etc etc. It gets hard when you're doing it in your head. Lose track? Start again.

Alternately, you can ponder the mystery of Russell's set. Russell's set is the set of all sets that do not contain themselves. The obvious question, then, is whether Russell's set contains itself. If it does, then it no longer satisfies requirements for entry, and if it isn't a member, then it has to become a member (because the set no longer contains itself).

Uni's are like that; you need a number/code/pw/pin for everything. Just ring up and say you don't have one and see how to go about getting it.

I hate to complain to friends online, it makes me feel guilty. But if you don't have a stupid neurose like that I'd recommend doing it.
Personally I agree with Laneth, physical exercise is great. Specially if you have a punching bag or something.

*tickles Shiri*

Wow Jalain, what kind of school are you from? If _any_ school did that in my country, they'd probably get lynch mobs outside and parents suing them to death. biggrin.gif

My ways of dealing with stress:
1) Tearing paper into tiny bits and freaking out the teacher halo.gif
2) Walk lots

Edit: The name... blush.gif too many projects + lack of sleep = turn my brain into mush
me -> pound.gif

Why am I being tickled? 0_o (I'm Shiri, dangit. >_<)

Lots of coffee works for me - but cold coffee. Cools you down and the caffiene destresses you in the summer. Or, if you have a girlfriend, well.. yeah. Otherwise, try some illegal substances or valium.

A more conservative and restrictive America perhaps wink.gif The Chinese here have been called bananas (yellow skin, but white inside) often enough anyway.

pound.gif Yrael. Drugs are bad! BAD!

I emailed back, got an email from the Media Student Liason, or something like that, asking for my phone number so everything could get fixed.. so I email that to her and hop offline to wait for the phone to ring.. it takes me about 12 hours to work out that prob'ly about half an hour after I got offline, Telstra cut my phone off.. and I couldn't get it reconnected until now.
I did cry Friday when I worked it out and now I'm feeling pretty much screwed. Going to email her now and let her know and go into Uni tomorrow to try get it all sorted. I'm feeling about 99% sure (can't be 100%, since I havn't seen my timetable) that I've missed my first two days of class. So far, my luck with Uni has been abysmal, and I havn't even found out how much my books are going to cost yet.
Summer2005-02-22 09:22:09
comfort.gif that sounds awful. How come your phone got cut off?
Akraasiel2005-02-22 09:46:22
did you try your pin as a password? Or your birthday in MMDDYY form? Thats usually what most uni's do for student services passwords. Unfortunately it makes it incredibly easy to mess with people.

Does a null set count as containing itself? There is nothing to contain, but that could be interepreted as no requirements to contain it....

Meeh, hope things go better, Jalain.

How To Handle Stress

* Picture yourself near a stream.

* Birds are softly chirping in the crisp, cool mountain air.

* Nothing can bother you here.

* No one knows this secret place.

* You are in total seclusion from that place called "the world."

* The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity.

* The water is clear.

* You can easily make out the face of the person whose head you're holding under the water.

There now... feeling better?

(I really don't remember where I picked this up from, unfortunately.)
Shiri2005-02-22 19:44:18
:/ Must try that sometime.

(EDIT: Er...the imagining it, not the doing it. Honest.)
