Essentially the system I used when I was still on Java worked like this, the basic triggers would autocure most of it. Sometimes something would get through, but in those cases, the echoes and highlighting let me see it and fix it before it became a problem. Its like the basic triggers are there to filter out most of the affs, then the highlights and whatnot are the failsafe to get the things that got through the basic triggers.

Then I got sick of Java and switched to Mushclient, which is as powerful as Zmud, faster, and free. Meh. Dont use java when you can use Mushclient.

*grin*

I don't like the way it looks and can't understand coding. JAVA pretty much suits me as you get little boxes to put everything in.

If it weren't for the "I like the way it looks" issue, which is exactly why I keep on JAVA even though I get mangled partially because of it, I'd tell you to ask someone for Ethelon's free system (he's not visiting the boards anymore, so you probably couldn't contact him as easy) which is MUSHClient based, and you know how good he was, heh.

EDIT: Btw, I love the "Shiribot annihilate the double post please." halo.gif

Yeah last time I said terminate the double post so I chose a different word. I'm going through the thesaurus under kill.

But Mushclient has the little boxes too doesn't it? Just in a different way.

QUOTE
For example, in the command box, #echo EAT-MARJORAM-EAT-MARJORAM makes a huge retarded red thing that gets in the way of everything and tells you to eat marjoram. (It looks stupid if you don't have the dashes, and it's easy to miss if you don't do it twice, but you can experiment there.)

It doesn't make a big retarded red thing that gets in the way. It makes a little pink thing that I will easily miss. *slapJava* *slapshiri*
Shiri2005-04-02 16:38:50
0_o Mine totally doesn't do that. Well, if it only makes a little pink thing, do like...

#echo MANJANAIA-EAT-YOUR-DAMN-MARJORAM
#echo MANJANAIA-EAT-YOUR-DAMN-MARJORAM

or just
#echo MARJORAM-MAR-MARJORAM-MAR-MARJORAM-MAR-MARJORAM-MAR
#echo MARJORAM-MAR-MARJORAM-MAR-MARJORAM-MAR-MARJORAM-MAR

so it shows the alias and the herb in case you get confused.

Or, I dunno, something.
Manjanaia2005-04-02 18:03:15
And, equally annoyingly, it joins echoes together.

Shiri2005-04-02 18:04:52
Does it? Damnit. Maybe just leave enough dashes to make a linebreak. 80 or so characters on a line, so go for that.

#echo EAT-FAELEAF-EAT-FAELEAF---------------------------------- or whatever it is. tongue.gif
Manjanaia2005-04-02 18:15:12
Yay you didn't censor!

Meh I'm alright with this now. I will likely never need these echoes anyway. I will either be cured by my triggers or die as I am pretty poo.
Shiri2005-04-02 18:26:32
Wait, what'm I might to censor? blink.gif And yeah, well, even with a basic trigger system you don't stand much chance against anyone REALLY intent on killing you. You have to know what you're doing at least a bit. This might give you an extra second to run away but mostly it's just psychological protection. tongue.gif
Manjanaia2005-04-02 19:27:44
Yeah I need a few hundred credits and some experience first.

I don't need to be told I took a few months to reply to this, I was just recently directed to this thread. Here's how I do manual curing, because NO way could I remember all those macros, wow. Maybe after a lot of practice.

FOr all things I apply I make an alias thats starts with a (for apply) a(pply). Get it? :-p then the next one is what it is, a for arnica, m for mending etc. so AA, now which side, left, right or none if it's head or torso. We;ll do left. And then leg! AALL for apply arnica to left leg. Easy eh? Well, fo rme anywho.

For herbs, let's say I need to eat galingale (Sorry if you do something else to it, I haven't played in a bit).
ctrl+g->Outr 1 galingale ; eat galingale.

And that's basicalyl how I cure. I'd highlight all affliction lines and echo in Bold letter
Pattern->You're confused
command->#highlight green ; #echo ~*~*CONFUSED, THISHERBTOCURE*~*~

and then do Ctrl+g. If there are two g herbs, ctrl+g and alt+g. Simple as that for me. I use the numpad for movement, and F keys I stick clear of.

Hope it helps
