Sorry dahling, I prefer the Irish or light Scottish accent.

And I HAVE NO ACCENT. You ever watched a decent movie? You know, where you don't hear any accent? That is what we sound like here.

Anyhow, I'm skipping my class today - people can start to pester me again if they want to call me. biggrin.gif

Hey Amaru you're from Leicester? Don't suppose you watch City? (<3 Leicester City. And Hull City. And football (proper not american) in general.

And yeah, Leicestershire people have an accent. Kinda soft, not particularly strong but distinct. And people who leave out of city (Loughborough, Melton Mowbray etc) call people duck all thte time.
Amaru2005-03-22 18:25:44
censor.gif football. I don't enjoy watching football, just playing it.

I've never called someone duck in my life, duck.
Manjanaia2005-03-22 18:28:50
Yeah Leicester pretty much suck. Haven't watched them in ages. But playing it rules.

I am still hoping someone else lives in Hull, or maybe in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Anyone?

*tumbleweed*

Like heck, Bricriu. You wouldn't believe how many Americans say that, when in reality they have the most -ridiculous- accents, they just never know it. I mean, I don't have an accent from my perspective, but as Arilyon and Summer can verify I do in fact have one. tongue.gif

A stoned politician, you might say? whistling.gif
Shiri2005-03-22 21:40:09
...blink.gif You wot?

Conclusion: If you live in Britain, you have an accent.

Now stop going on about the different sorts of British accents when you all know nobody has any idea what you're talking about.
Shiri2005-03-23 00:08:23
Except us Brits. We're the only important ones when it comes to talking about accents. Oh and Aussies I guess. halo.gif

Anyway, Americans have accents too. Shh.
Summer2005-03-23 00:09:03
Conclusion: Everyone has an accent to those who do not speak in the same accent nyah.gif
Shiri2005-03-23 00:10:39
That's the one. And the Brits are good enough to ADMIT we have ones even when we can't hear them. (...although it's still less ridiculous than Summer's. halo.gif)

You come from Texas!

You can't talk about accents. laugh.gif
Terentia2005-03-23 00:59:15
Sorry, try again.

I come from Kansas, I live in Georgia. I've never even been to Texas.

And as far as I'm aware, the closest I get to a southern accent is an occasional "ya'll".
Amaru2005-03-23 01:10:53
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure.
Erion2005-03-23 01:35:48
Lies. You all have accents, and Bricriu sound slike a bubbly school girl.

End all be all.
Bricriu2005-03-23 01:42:54
Lies. And just for that, next time you call, I'm actually going to be mean.
Erion2005-03-23 02:01:04
Shut up. Your roomie and her boi were gettin' freaky. And he wears high heels. You sounded like a school girl.

Erion: 1

Bricriu: -10
Bricriu2005-03-23 02:18:33
You Mo.....Cousin.

Erion - 600
Bricriu - 1337
Erion2005-03-23 02:34:01
But the cousin factor means +1000. So.

Erion: 1600

Bricriu: 990 (+1000 for bringing it up.)

I don't have an accent, really! I feel like my "accent", if I have one, is just flat speech.

Well, most Pennsylvanians don't have accents unless you somehow have the alleged "Philadelphian" accent where you say "beggel" instead of bagel, and "wooder" instead of water. I hate those people :|, learn how to talk.

Oh and Bric, don't worry. The first time I called one of my friends in Tennessee, the first thing she said was, "Oh GAWD, you sound like a VALLEY Girl. Let's go to the mall and SHOP till we DROP!" *console*
