You have to declare the person in the room you are boulderblasting, so if there is Narsrim, shrouded, Tuek, shrouded, then 3 other people not shrouded, and I declare the not shrouded people (assuming I don't have thirdeye), boulderblast won't hit Narsrim/Tuek.
The once amazing Boulderblast is now.. nothing.

Terenas2005-02-19 07:30:00
Um, I'd assume this would be a good thing. If you didn't declare them then you shouldn't be able to hit them, period. What's the point of the declaring system if you can just ignore declaring?
Silvanus2005-02-19 07:32:12
Whats the point of boulderblast, if you can't hit everyone in the room?
Unknown2005-02-19 07:36:29
I don't like the idea simply for the shoddy RP-ness of it.

Invest in thirdeye and make a trigger to glance in a direction and declare against anyone there... wahla
Akraasiel2005-02-19 07:56:16
boulderblast needs to be replaced with something else, maybe a good demesne skill for geomancers so their demesnes arent so worthless. Can anyone say stun?
Murphy2005-02-19 07:57:51
just look on QW and declare all possilbe enemies, plus tuek and Ethelon who either have a gem or borrow one.

It isn't worthless. The people who have it are just not being creative enough to use it.
Silvanus2005-02-19 08:04:29
I do have thirdeye, but not everyone has that kind of money or that kind of lessons to throw around, Narsrim.
Richter2005-02-19 08:14:52
Amazing, someone not thinking of just themselves? An interesting concept for the forum. Quite commendable.
Jack2005-02-19 08:18:53
I can understand the reasoning behind this, but it.. it really doesn't make sense. You're saying a giant rock will fly into the room, explode into fragments, and only harm the people you have declared?
Seriously, just have it hit everyone. Ally or enemy, declared or undeclared.

Daganev2005-02-19 08:20:23
couldn't area wide attacks that just hit your enemies automatically declare the people its going to hit?

It would depend on the size of the room and the size of the rock, actually.

So the argument has become: "Boulder blast sucks because not everyone can gain other skills to use it properly".... Celestines should start saying the same about absolve if they don't have contemplate.

Oh, of course.
And where the people were stood.

I didn't say boulderblast sucks, I said boulderblast is now useless with declare/defend, big differnce
But, you can still hit someone with Absolve and kill them without contemplate, you have to declare first when boulderblasting.

I see your point to some degree although I think with some sharp reflexes, you can make it as useful as before... that's all.
Silvanus2005-02-19 08:35:34
Yeah, ok, so just write up the whole thing for me so I don't have to figure it out or read the zmud manual, then explain it to people who use java how to do it there, and then I'll say Boulderblast should be stopped taken into account of declare/defend.

While I'm at it, I'll include combat reflexes (the works), my fabled bashing system, etc. That will be 300 credits.
Silvanus2005-02-19 08:38:30
Narsrim, you know as well as anyone who happened to be in my inner circle that I'm the biggest (and best) moocher.
