I love the Northern half of the Serenwilde forest. It's really beautiful. And the Ethereal Serenwilde too all very pretty places.

Serenwilde, its big enough, and in a mud first the rivers actually flow downhill from mountains to the sea in a logical way, the little touches such as the river tunnel going under the road are nice. Spatial realism is a big plus on the prime and shows alot of thought went into its creation, not so on the planes in which people accept much more freeform designs such as teleports, room wrapping or random room changes.
I love the ocean both the inner sea and sea of despair, five levels and tons of rooms, lots of quests and a good amount of mobs. The whole vertical stacking idea is really good. Id like to see that concept carried to an underground complex, under the sea itself so youd have a 10 story megaplex.
People like glom but while I like the layout always thought it was a bit crowded with ideas. Every 10 rooms has its own mini mob population when two or three varied types should have done.
Id also like to see the ratio of neutral areas to combat zones go up. Neutral being areas where the mobs or quests dont enemy you and are designed in such a way that no city has buildt in claims to them which promote PK. Neutral zones for the prime, more combat zones for the planes, its only logical that cities would attempt to find planes that are in line with their dogmas.

I have to agree that, Glomdoring is a unique and enthralling place, due to the creepy scenery, creatures, and the occasional movement in the trees that raises the hairs on your neck. I can't believe how effective it is at making you actually feel... queasy
Other than that, I love the desert, especially the mesa compound, partly because my history is closely tied to it, sort of. And there's a lot to do, so many nice secrets... and the crystal structure is nice and sleek. When Hallifax is released, that will be my favourite area

The Black Tower. I can easily picture Rowena walking its halls lost in reverie among the bookcases and arcane laboratories.
The Northern Serenwilde. It very much seems like a separate and much wilder entity then the Southern Serenwilde.

I love how the Prime makes geographic sense (apart from the problem of areas you can see but not go, but that's unavoidable), and then as you go up through Ethereal to Elemental to Cosmic to Astral, things get more and more surreal. The Astral Plane is not only creepy in places, it strikes a great balance between making visual sense (places are related to one another so you can navigate them) and yet still being alien and impossible.
I'll echo what a few people said about Northern Serenwilde and Glomdoring. While I've not explored New Celest IC, what I've seen on maps seems entirely apt -- I love the seashell motif, plus I love how it seems entirely bewildering at first but you can get to know your way around readily, which strikes me as being what a real city should feel like, particularly to us country bumpkin Serens. And there are some really striking descriptions up in the mountains, though it's easy to walk past them and not notice.

My favorite place has got to be the Hartstone Guild. The fact that its actually outside is cool. The moondance tower was cool. It was a tad creepy though with the voices and stuff.

The Hartstone guild, although it strikes me a little too much of Stonehenge, is one of my favourites. It just has this feel to it that is nice to be around.
Ethereal plane in whole. The moment you enter there is a surreal atmosphere there.
Glomdoring cause well, every world needs that creepy, scary forest that you tell your children not to enter or the boogey man will get you.
I would like to say the Moondance Tower, but quite honestly the first moment I saw it, I pictured Lord of the Rings. When I explored it and walked to the roof I had to stop myself from looking for Gandalf. It does have its good points though and is fairly easy to picture in your head from the descriptions, which is a good thing in any game of this type.

I really like Magnagora and Nil, in general, just overall the two areas are really nice.
celahir2005-02-21 12:09:16
Personnaly I like the isle of light since the kinsman quest is so over powered

Starhaven
Awesome descriptions!

Magnagora and the Pits on Nil - particularly Lady Nilfilhema's....Hers sends a shiver down my spine.

I would have to say Sagittarius, and Leo. Those two areas are just begging for a quest or two, with such tantilizing and interesting room descriptions.
Hazar2005-02-22 06:16:05
The Skarch and the Mesa. Descriptions, quests, mobs, everything.
Shoshana2005-02-22 09:25:07
I like the interactivity of Nil (I was certainly not expecting it, considering that it doesn't happen on Celestia) and the designs of all the cities/communes (Anyone got a word to use when referring to all three at once? I keep getting the feeling that I'd have hordes of angry Serenwilders on my back if I just called them "the cities"), although Serenwilde would be much less of a pain if the weevil buyer was in the commune itself. Maybe Abeytu could take on an apprentice and send them there to collect them or something?
Newton etc. are also brilliant, with all the connections between the different areas and quests that are just the right level of difficulty for newbies (Or people like me who are really really really bad at figuring out quests ).

i really like magnagora, i think it was really put together well.
Vesar2005-02-22 17:38:59
I'm going to have to say the Astral Plane followed by the Inner Sea and the Sea of Despair. I'd love to see more interactivity on the Astral.. perhaps it would bring more people up there to see the amazingly disgusting and revolting areas and creatures. It just fits with the twisted side of my personality... Kudos to the sick mind that came up with it!

Whilst I'm sure Estarra would like to take responsibility, it was actually the product of quite a few sick minds. Isn't that reassuring?
Niara2005-02-22 22:23:26
Yes, it shows that we are in good hands.
Personally I love the Ethereal plane, it is just lovely and getting scary the farther south you go.
Also the Astral Plane, such a sick place but I love the descriptions and the concept, that you can gain power and generate the mobs for your hunting trips on your own there.
I also love the overall design of the Basin, it might be quite small but it is great, just great.
